In defense of Denny.... There has been more on the table than just UM or Himmelveil....Plus this new deal probably has taken a large chunk of his time.. Make no mistake, I am probably the most impatient person on the planet, but there is more running a business than just the surface stuff.... I'm sure that Denny is taking us into account, but in reality he and his cohorts need to come first... His livelihood and that of his company depend on it.... And if he goes under then we get nothing....

Now then, let's let Denny get back to it....

It's all good peoples and I respect and understand some of the backlash. I fully intend on bringing many of you who are regulars here into Beta (if you want to be involved that is). Once you understand where things might be heading I think the paranoia will stop pretty swiftly.

In regards to the WIP meters and release dates all I can say is that's why I went with nondescript meters. A few dozen issues popped up over the past two months that really played with the timeline of things. Hanging out on the forums and reading updates should give you a pretty good indication of why this or that project is moving at the pace it is. I now understand completely why video game developers have so many release date issues. They juggle far more than we do and it's frankly amazing they get anything out around an announced release date. Just think "Duke Nukem Forever"...we aren’t that bad. lol.

I agree with the shared sentiment here on smaller more frequent releases and I'm working towards making that happen. It just didn’t happen as fast as I thought it would. I need 10 more Denny’s to really get the job done.

You all in a very direct way "put food on the table" and don't think for one second that I don't know it or stress about it. Your support and encouragement has always meant a great deal to me on a deeply personal level. I’m not begging for sympathy here but the more exposure we get and the larger WWG grows the more my time is stretched thin by the other rigors of running ones own business. Dealing with internal development issues and art direction with other WWG staff could in itself be a full time job but add to that customer service, web maintenance, promotional issues, model design and I have a pretty full plate.

The last thing I want to do is let you down or tarnish the relationship we have developed over the years. I'm going to make you happy damnit if it kills me! Good things are coming I SWEAR

Just in case anybody is wondering, I am officially lurking on this issue, I just do not have enough information to comment, at least beyond saying 'I just do not have enough information to comment'. So I will watch, and wait...

Though I would have to admit to a complete lack of interest in that direction. I do not want to wait until the mail brings the frames for something I purchase to build today.

I've stayed quiet on this one as well, but I am becoming more apprehensive as this thread continues.

I love WWG! I display their models whenever I do my demos for Wizkids and Wizards of the Coast (I'm a volunteer for them both) and always get oohs and aahs. BTW, I would love to have WWG promotional materials to give them but they never seem to appear? I know this has been asked for many times, and you have people who have asked for it. Where is it? We are willing to print them ourselves and promote your product for free....

I understand Denny's concerns for preventing piracy. I am also willing to support him in new ideas as he branches out into new avenues and genres.

But it does appear the writing is on the wall as far as pdf/downloadable terrain is concerned. Anti-piracy probably means no d/l. Look at RPG Now, the 3D terrain producers are MT, HS, and WWG. Ebbles is no longer on RPG Now, and SE has all but died. Nobody else does 3D. 2D terrain tiles are a HUGE market there. If Denny (who has the monopoly on quality 3D terrain) moves past cardstock, or reduces his focus on it, we're left with a limited selection.

I agree that smaller, more frequent sets will bring in a more steady income, and focus on getting that damn online store up and running should be priority #1 so that this option can be easier to implement!

I also have concerns that as Denny branches out into these other areas, that sets are going to slow down, or get moved to the island of lost models sets...

Don't misunderstand me, when Denny has a success, or gets the recognition he deserves, and gets more opportunities, I am happy for him. When the Rezolution announcement came out "I" got excited! Not because of the new terrain sets, but because of Denny getting the recognition & the job!

I'm sure I'm far from Denny's favorite forum member and wanted to speak my concerns for whatever they are worth. I have done everything I could to promote his great products and have concerns that these products will evolve into something that is not compatible with what I have and enjoy.
