As a System Admin for my job, I must throw in my condolences. I have seen too many a system crash that causes people to lose their data that was not backed up in some form.

Perhaps it is time to start a BCP process, Denny.

Unfortunately, I was in Puerto Rico with my wife's family when this happened. Sorry I could not have been around sooner to offer any solid advice.

I have the parts to make a computer (minus the hard drives and case) that I wouldn't mind giving up. It's not much, a PIII 733 MHz, mobo, 384 MBs of RAM, 24x CDRW, DVD Rom, Power Supply, GeForce 3 Ti200, Sound Blaster Audigy, and i think i have an ethernet card and a dial up modem. I'd just ask you to pay shipping, but you could throw in a free set if you like too

Denny, is there any "drone work," with or without an NDA, modellining or non-modelling related, that could be farmed out to volunteers to help free you up for the more important parts of your recovery?

Wow, stay off the forums and you miss all the bad news! I know you've heard this time and again, but I'd like to say sorry for the problem as well.

I've been so busy at work redoing an upgrade that I did at the end of last year due to data integrity failure that I know what you're going through. Well, that and I've experienced both hard drive and motherboard meltdowns; I'm talking personal equipment here, so I really know what you're going through.

My best option for recovery from that has been to get a 2nd hard drive for my important machines and store all data on that drive. My programs and operating system go on another drive, which if it fails, I only loose the programs and not the documents. Plus, the storage drive gets no where near the abuse that the main drive gets.

I know, that knowledge comes a little to late, but I'd suggest using another internal drive and then if you want to add another level of backup, use CDs/DVDs. Unless they get scratched, they won't fail like a hard drive, no mechanism to die. Yes occasionally they go bad too, but I think they do it a lot less often than most other mediums.

On the spreading the news front, I'm a member of MeetUp.com and part of a DnD group that has just started up again. Well, I constantly post on their forums about WWG models and even took some to the first meeting we had last month, so I'm constantly pimping for ya Denny! How much new business I get for you I can't say, but I definitely have no problem spreading the word.

I've even got a discussion area on my own forum for cardstock modeling, so as long as we continue to push WWG models, you'll be able to keep making more!
