Don't give me too much credit, please-Denny's the one who brought it to life. Like I said before, all I really did was hand him an unfolded specimen of Eatemuposaurus draconii, and he's the one that modified it and turned it into the final product. It's the final product that people are raving about, and credit for that rightfully belongs to Denny, not me.

This is my mission for the next 24hr (odd). I will aim to get a few tiles printed and mounted (maybe LinX'ed) but since this is a pure 2D part I'm thinking of using Photo-Glossy and then laminating it, this should capture to true spirit of 300dpi. The main problem I have first is finding my photo paper (either on top of the wardrobe behind me or in my desk in storage) and second is bonding the laminate to the foamcore. If I have trouble with the second stage I might approch a framing shop that mounts posters onto foamcore and ask if they could recommend anything.

I just got back from seeing Superman Returns - a tad hohum but nice effects and great sound. You never get the impression that he is really putting the effort into it - I mean I really really want to see his eyes pop with the strain

SO I rang my local office Superstore (my usual guys are still blowing smoke up me about orders not coming in an all that jazz) and asked if they had the brand of gloss cardstock, answering yes I promply hoped in the car. So I went up and down the inkjet paper area for around five minutes and I be damned if I could see the brand. Needless to say I was jonesing for it now so I grabed a backed of Canon Matte Photo Paper MP-101 - 50 sheets for $19.00Aud (yes bad price but I need it .. like real bad!).

After dicking around with the down stairs printer (the better one in the house) with my desktop (the better one in the house) I have gotten some really really nice prints. This stuff is good but only weighs in at 170gsm, so on the doors I'm aiming to laminate the printed sheet to some uncoated cardstock I have lying around (170gsm + 200gsm) to give that extra umpf! I might not need it as I might build them as normal but laminate them with plastic then cut out the notches. Either way I would like to make a build that will stand the text of time (well stand the test of a number of gamers) at the local store.

I would have like to have the laminating done by now but my two brother decided that they needed babysitting (one's 32 and the other is 27) so that screwed up my day, and that the end of the weekend too.

I went to Office Dept here. Just my luck they were having a sale of their house brand Heavy weight (9 mil) glossy photo paper at $11.99 for 25 sheets, AND buy 1 get 2 FREE! So I snagged 3 of them and then picked up 6 extra freebies. WOOT!! I printed a test run or two and was thoroughly impressed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Lord Abbadon.

Sorry to hear that you plans for building got messed up.

Well whist watching Jericho I managed to do a bit of cutting and pasting, so not all was lost. I did mangae to put two corners through the laminator then trim them up - I was worried that the film would sepreate once teh edges had beencut but it seems that it bonds to the paper itself also! This makes it look very professional.

I also have a sneaky feeling that the spray mounting glue might just work with these two mediums.
