There is so much more to be explored in 3D terrain, process and developement models that its pathetic any company has to follow another's direction. To lazy to maintain a creative stream of their own. I guess. Eventaully, you could expect a shake out of such coat tail enterprises.

Looking at their web site I see far too many similarities between their stuff and WWG for my liking.

I know there's only so many ways to make certain things but these are just too close for comfort.

Ah but the problem lies with not the coping of the product but the fact that WWG does not have a presents on RPGNow or its ever growing companies. People are only going to buy what they feel is the best - the best that they can find.

I know that having WWG on WWG store is the best option for cash flow but the simple fact remands that it's not out in the general public eye in the "Stores".

I think that one of your WOTC forum posts is what got me over here. Let me just say that I was struggling with a way to make my Keep of the Shadowfell be more interesting than lines on a battlemat, and struggled with a way to make it happen. I am a very visual person and prefer wargames, Warhammer fantasy in particular, and have painted every single monster I would need for the module to get ready to run it. However, they were still running around on flat posters and battlemats.

Then I found a link to World Works games and literally spent three days lurking around the site in disbelief that what I was seeing was possible to do with paper. I bought all the supplied I needed and was able to put together two upcoming encounters with WWG stuff over the weekend. My players were floored at the 3d cave encounter I worked up with caveworks, and people in the store were all asking if I had vacancies in my game. Now I have a waiting list for players, and there is no going back. I've got all the props I need from various sets constructed to make the Keep 2.5d at the moment, and I'm excited to play Wormhole as well.

Long story short, I'm telling everyone in the local area about WWG, and I know several want to buy stuff soon. Your work is truly amazing, and I can't wait to dive in deeper to cardstock modelling.

Hi and welcome Mupchurch! One of the things that happened to me after finding WWG was that after a few builds of the genre that we were playing (Modern Mayhem and pulp stuff) I started looking at their OTHER cool stuff WWG and branched out into other RPG genre's just to build the model! Consequently we've had a gas flopping back and forth changing genre's. Yep...Their stuff is awesome.

Using Google images search, I've come up with a few links that show maps from H1. These apparently are the full size maps included for the major encounters, without the module itself, I can't tell if there are many other encounters that only warranted a small map inside the booklet.

I did find a wotc link, . It shows a map of the village that is I assume threatened by some kind of evilness. It's 200' wide, and looks to consist of 2 different colors of buildings with a wall around it, so I expect CWU could do pretty much all of it (the plaster house and stone house being used for the different color buildings).


On the wotc forums, people posted the list of 4 old D&D Miniatures maps that are being reused for the module and pictures of the two new maps. These have been up since mid may, so hopefully since wotc hasn't had a problem with them being available easily enough from their own forums, it's not a problem to post them here.

As much as I hate to say it, I may need to get this just for the maps for D&D Minis. Of course, I could just go ahead and do them in 3D...if I had a printer. Sorry, I'll stop whining about that...soon.

Well considering its a free sample, and I've got a fair amount of CWU stuff buit already, I think I'll give Winterhaven a go.

Now so far I think that I'm going to have to do a little kitbashing for the wall section that runs diagonally.

Aside from that it would be really helpful if anyone know what each building is supposed to be.

I'm planing on getting exteriorworks to do the ground tiles. Does anyone know if it includes kanelink templates? And are the ground tiles 6"x6"?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hmm, 7x7 will mean a bit of cutting to custom fit the tiles, no big deal.

Anyone know how tall the walls should be? Crenelations or hoardings?
