I've read both of the development forums for Sci-Fi and one thing I'm pretty sure got missed was Futuristic Vehicles, from hover vehicles to land transports, there are a vast variety of vehicles that can fit into many sci-fi settings, why, just in the hover category alone I can think of cars, trucks, buses, vans, police and military craft, trains, transports, hovercycles, etc...

I know this is probably a little late for this sets development, but I wouldn't mind seeing an entire vehicle expansion pack (It would be even cooler if you could include interiors, and possibly transparencies for hover fields and windows, as well as a variety of colours for each vehicle ).

I know, I really need to take a lesson from Valve here and stop giving absolutes. The problem is that things come up and screw with my ability to get things out on time. Take this week for example, three things popped up; I was under the gun to finish up an interview for an upcoming Harbinger magazine article, I was in an unexpected panic to create box art for our upcoming WorldWorks CDRoms and my server went down for a day unexpectedly. All of this while trying to finalize Rodney’s “Eye of Capellasis” adventure and Paul’s SpaceWorks promo.

One day perhaps I’ll have the money and resources to hire on some administrative help or farm out certain jobs but at this point its “all on me”

Just bitching..... not really a problem. The sad fact is that you should just take my CC number and upload me the product as complete - like Steam, because I'll just buy them anyway.

I believe it will be in the December issue. It's a full three page spread regarding WorldWorks and will hopefully attract some new users our way. I'll get more details for you guys as soon as I can.

I just got off the phone with Paul. Although development could hit a speedbump later down the road the model set itself is around 80% complete (no instructions). From what I've seen it's impressive stuff. I'll say it again, this genre isnt for Paul, this is Paul's genre!

We are just trying to finish up some loose ends before getting the sample up and running. The delays are all my fault but Im doing my best to get things done. I'm going to say early next week but whether you believe me or not is entirely up to you

So er how does one go about being a Beta Tester... to try to get the model Now...

I have my pen ready to sign a nondisclosure agreement (I am also a graphic designer if that would increase my value as a beta tester ).

Heh, I've playtested product in the past, you would not believe how not-fun a NDA is, especiially if it is a good product. The urge to talk can be conquered (I never even said 'I am playtesting [project X] but I can't talk about it.') For something like World Works, to have the model, build it, thenot be able to use it in my game! would be torment. (For what it is worth most of this was back in the early 1980s for a company that is no longer in business, which is a shame, they made some good products, and even published some of mine. When I go on EBay and see an adventure I helped write and/or playtest going for $75 it hurts.)

With bad product the NDA becomes easy, you don't want to talk about it....

Some people might even be able to figure out who I am if they have The Curse on Hareth, Brotherhood of the Bolt, Plague of Terror, Sylvan Settings, Alluring Alcoves, Chilling Chambers, or Cards of Power...

Unfortunatley "mums the word" on this one boys. Once it's out and you see where we are headed we will be more open to discussion. Paul is steamrolling ahead with this one and ...WOW!

Hey Denny, speaking of interviews, and the mention of Shoutcast on a seperate topic - Have you considered giving an interview with the folks at At least one of the folks involved gave Sea Works: Skull Cove rave reviews. (Bribing them with a copy of The Maiden would also work fine I am sure. )

Actually, I had been thinking about getting WWG to do ENWorld's Friday Five interview. But both are a good idea.

I wasn't trying to imply that it delayed SW:FL but more to express the shock that before Thanksgiving i had never heard of this project, and i come back check the page to see if there has been a Promo release anything, i see that it is getting into final build but then am suprised by this other thing.

And now after your last post i look around and see that the first time i can see this mentioned is in the WorldWorks Adventures, from October, Late october. I didn't find it in Lets Talk RPG(s) or anywhere else. but then i haven't looked too hard. I'm not saying don't do this or anything else, i am just so tired of waiting for something, in the area i am realyl interested in.
There is a line between perfectionism and wanting to make a perfect product that it can be delayed till the end of time becuase it still isn't "right" and actually making someting. Yes there have been few fixs and patches to the things put out which would point towards your quaility products, and you want to make the best prodcut posssible, but there gets to be a point where the consumer is sitting in the dark, not knowing anything while the producers are working away to produce the perfect product, and we can just not care anymore becuase it has taken so long, there are now other options, or any number of reasons that make it so even if you have a perfect product that is in the far off future, i'm not going to want it anymore, becuase it no longer suits my needs.

It's reaching diminishing returns for me where everyone keeps saying that it is worth the wait and looks so good, but we have nothing to judge by ourselves, that unless this is really outstanding just isn't going to be worth it anymore. it is getting so "hyped", that something has to break. It has been 10 months since i started trying to find out something about this and while i understand that there a problems and unexpected delays in any venture we just aren't getting anything thing and i am really getted frustrated to the point of bagging it becuase it is just taking to long to get anything.

Ghenghis_Ska is right in many respects about the nature of the industry and how it looks to be bias to fantasy.

I can also see why Ghenghis_Ska would loose faith in a product that seems to be going nowhere fast. We, the consumers still don't know anything about First Light other than its future and its coming soon. We have no idea if it's internal or external - or since CWU, if its a combo.

I have seen the builds of Ghenghis_Ska "Other" (not Mel's) company's work for internal future terrain - and I must say it is truly a work of art (both the products and Ghenghis_Ska skills of using the products).

The end result is give use something to feed the addiction and keep the peons faithful. It would be a crying shame if we "lost" Ghenghis_Ska skill and ability because his work rocks!!!!

Please note that this is not a rip at WWG directly nor at Paul (get you arse moving boy!!! ) or at Denny (break the whip out8)) but just a small vent.

@Ghenghis_Ska keep the faith for WWG and us on the boards need you and your magic hands of crafting.
