Excellent. So will the Onager, FUS's and the Vulcan's be coming to Ebbles Labs? Will the WWG kitbash policy apply equally to Ebbles Labs offerings? If so, I'd like to submit this at some point; The geometry and textures come from Convoy, UD41, and the Vulcan supercharged engine. |

So the kitbash answer is yes, so long as it follows established WWG guidelines. Cool.

I know you've always had a little twitch about them as they don't fit into the mental continuum that you've established, but they are some of my favorite models ever.

Man, those new prices on the models sure are swell. Then again, I enjoyed putting some food on the table when I could. Besides, I've got the Prototype Black m722 and GPV (plus the flat bed GPV conversion I did). 
These models are awesome. If you don't have them yet, what are you waiting for? I think you can buy all 4 of them for less than the original cost on the UD-41. Buy now! There needs to be a better shot of the m722 interior. The driver and gunner section in the font is killer. There's no shot of the side door open, either. It's cool to see the weapons included in the GPV download, too. OAP forever. That Vulcan kit is going to be HUGE if you're putting all of the variations and extra supply drops into one package. *edit: I just noticed Patrol includes the 6x6 too. That's an amazing deal! Convince Denny to start carrying the 80lb coverstock so we can get more deals like this.

Chris, if I read some other somewhat older posts elsewhere correectly, you had out at one time a floater (antigrav) utility vehicle. Will we get to see that return? |

Nope, not much stuff from before late 2006 made the cut. There were a lot of workflow and software changes that year. I don't have the source files for most of the oldest stuff, the few source files I do have are from before 2006 are incompatible with my current software and workflow, and out of the remaining models for which I have usable source files for, there's a process of grading things for quality and staying power. In many cases, it's not worth redoing older models to current standards because it requires the same amount of work (or more, in the case of the 2010 revamp of the UD-41) as doing a new model from scratch, and you have to balance that against the value of focusing on fresh new content. The reason I mention that is because I'm not just putting up my old stuff as-is except in the case of the most recent releases. Everything from before late 2008 has to be redeveloped and reformatted with Craft ROBO support, and in order to justify diverting that effort from working on fresh new content, the old model has to be something pretty special. So, only a handful of best sellers from each year are going to re-appear here, and everything from before that is either gone forever (in the case of lackluster sales) or scheduled for a complete do-over at a future date (the best sellers--the GPV in Patrol is the replacement for the M11 4x4 from 2003, for example). The old floaters were not spectacular sellers by current standards, and their aesthetic is much too outdated and lame to resurrect today. I'd rather replace them with all-new models like the Brio and Interceptor, which reflect a more contemporary SF aesthetic. |

Thanks for the reply, Chris. All I can say is ... Dangit! Would have really been nice if I had discovered you (and the WWG crew) far longer ago in this galaxy so near and dear. That floater in the (picture I saw) looked perfect as the basic workhorse grav-jeep. [sigh... "I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight..."] |
