forgive me if this is a dumb question, but i was looking at buying both sets of Citizens of Himmelveil and I noticed that on the 2nd version, there are names at the bases of the miniatures. is that something that is optional or is there no way to not print the name labels for each mini?

They are indeed labeled on each mini. It was so long ago that I can't quite remember the reasoning there. If the names don't work for you it would be fairly easy to cover the titles either by doing a kitbash or physical alteration mind you.

The standees come with text on them. I have never printed and used the standees from that set, but looking it over it seems as though using the removable bases would cover up the names and you could glue the removable bases permanently if preferred.

Also, each of the standees has a matching NPC write-up. Granted, the stats are written for 3.5 or another d20 game, but the general idea is there and the blurb is handy (as are the included story hooks).
