Thanks for the enthusiasm gang! We're pretty happy with how things turned out. Chris and I turned this out in record time because of a new sweet workflow. The funniest thing about this Roll Arena is that the early prototype was hashed out in 2002! I was trying to apply it to a game system all this time (which is still happening actually) but decided to release a new system generic version for everyone to take advantage of. To answer some specifics: * The arena itself is 8"X8" * The Cards are 3.5"X2.5" * Each individual card chamber/holder (there are 3) is approx 3.75" X 2.62" * Throwing dice into cardstock actually has some great properties. There's a very minor amount of spring which adds to random roll potential and its a bit slidy as well. You might think you have dice throwing mastery but its harder than it looks. * Coming up with individualized uses for the arena is priority #1 with this thing. You can make it mean what ever the heck you want it to mean. * Active hit location is FANTASTIC fun! Oh and here's a snippet from the instructions. Cool! This could be used in pretty much any board game, even just as a tray to roll dice in. My group says that all dice rolls must be on an open portion of the table to be valid (ie, not touching the board, on the board, on cards, etc (partly to prevent game pieces from being moved by flying dice)) so I can see the value in this. |

I have indeed been testing it...rolling those dice to make sure that everything goes fine, and that the ink does not wear off from use until at least a million rolls 
Folks you will be happy to know that cardstock with a heavy card or mat board backing gives a small bounce than a nice roll...No mega bouncing over the edge, even with quite enthusiastic throwing
I dont guarantee you will NEVER have a die skip out on you...but its going to be rare, and probably when you are rolling more than one. I didnt do my test build with foamcore..I think that would just give a bit too thick of a "waist" in the build, and its not really necessary to go that heavy duty An easy way to test to see how foamcore might work...make a 3 walled TLX 6X6 and roll some dice into there
