Soooo, is this 'straight' Western genre, or are we gonna get our Steampunk/Supernatural/Alien gaming bones jarred?

Nice - in a suitably grim and gritty way!

Hoping this will fit in with or be adaptable to european style settings and Cthulhu gaming.

Day three of cutting out intircate paper tumbleweed...ouch..darnit...ouch...darnit...ouch..darnit

What kind of things would add a horror edge to a western town?

Abandoned Mine
Blood soaked house on the prairie
weird travelling carnival
weird travelling snakeoil salesman with wagon of elixers
A ghost town (equivalent of mayhem destroyed in this setting)
Hanging tree
little church with the grave markers of folks that were just travelling through.

It always sounded scary enough, whether it was wagons being led through hostile terrain by unscrupulous guides, little ranches being wiped out by the competition or small towns striving to make a living without much in the way of protection. There's a lot of horror already built in.

Day four of cutting out paper buffalo... 10 thousand and one.... done... ten thousand and two...done.. only two hundred thousand to go... ten thousand and three...

A telegraph office would be fun ...

Now this looks interesting. Ideally it would be able to create both regular and horror themes, much like Celestus Pravatis did with science fiction. And maybe a bit of steampunk as well.

Yeah, I'm thinking 'Deadlands' too. :ymcowboy:

Mine keep blowing away.

They're starting to frighten the dog as they rustle around the house.

What I find most interesting is the reaction to the mere mention of a title and vague notion of setting :) I like the sort of subconscious sense you all have about what works, what doesn't and what should be.

Oh yeah - DUH! #-o : [in the order they struck me]

TRAINS! with track [anyone been watching "Hell on Wheels" on AMC TV?]

Standees fof: Cattle / Horses (both wild and domesticated) / Buffalo / Coyotes / Bear / Cougar (mountain lion) / Sheep [did I dare list that last one?] - some with red eyes... :ymdevil:

Poison water hole signs :ymsick:

Dead skull markers

Building textures in log, adobe, sawmilled lumber

Stagecoaches

As someone already mentioned wagons in general: buckboard, Conestoga, buggy, chuckwagon

Trail camping tents, campfires & plates of beans & the ubiquitious coffeepot

Supplies:
- Crates of wiskey, nitroglycerin, guns & ammunition
- Bolts of cloth
- Barrels of nails
- Bags of grain and foodstuffs
- Coils of Barbed Wire

Water barrels

Bank safes & strongboxes

3D Haystack standees

Corral wooden fencing

Indian Village: teepees, hide tanning racks, etc.

Populace Standees addition [just as for "The Maiden"] - might need 2 volumes here, one for the "good guys" and one for the Indians, etc. - unless its a bigger set: "20" seems like a small number.

[I'll leave the *types* of buildings to be listed by someone else... can't have all the fun!]

Hey Denny, the font for the Dead Fall title, is that something you came up with? I don't recognize it but like it very much!

The font that the 'Caps' and 'Subtitle' looks familiar but I can't immediately place it. I probably saw it (or something similar) on www.dafont.com recently. The 'ead all' letting seems like a stock 'western' font, of which there are a bagillion varieties, though "Insane Rodeo" seems closest ( http://www.dafont.com/ifc-insane-rodeo.font ) .
