Raloc, Let me know if you want to do a paper day. I could come over or we can hang at Jonathan's. If I could offer some advice: The GP paper is about five bucks at (brr) Wal-Mart for 150 sheets. So for $15 you could get 450 sheets. They also sell the black foamcore board for less than $3. About $2.88. Staples sells them in three packs for about $11 and some change. I am trying to decide if I want to cut out the windows at this point, too. I think the original windows look great, but to see inside has lots of WOW factor. I would cut the windows out before gluing the sides together. That way you can glue them inside and the glue the walls together. I think my first building will have the printed windows. I need to go to Kinko's to get some done. Strange about the ink rubbing off. You must use a different type than I do. I use a wooden ruler (Great advice from Denny) to help burnish the hard to reach places and my fingers and ruler for the easy spots because for some reason, I can't find a friggen' burnisher, not even at my local Wal-Mart. I did find something at Michael's but, darn, they wanted too much for it. Brookhurst Hobbies has nice cutting boards for 7.95. I got mine at Wal-Mart when I was there, but Brookhurst Hobbies has a better variety in my opinion. I got a clear one and I keep using the wrong side. BH has clear, green, and black. Also, when cutting foamcore, always, always, use a fresh blade! It makes a world of difference! |
