Woohoo! Exactly what my upcoming Deadlands game needs! So glad to see the "false front" walls and flat rooftop options. What business sign are there? Will there be blank signage? If the kit does not contain a sheriff's office or bank, any other WWG kits that could provide useful props? I see that there aren't any saloon props, but the Feisty Friar prop kit serves quite well there. I would really love to see a piano, though. |

It's awesome! I'm not that much into western, but I can imagine a lot of use for it in modern and fantasy! Cabin in the woods surounded by hungry zombies, old house in Mayhem or next building to put alongside Thoumont's and Feisty Friar! I hope that planned Swift Scenic buildings will also have this generic feel and western accents will be carried by optional parts like signage, roof toppers, etc. When's release date, i can't wait |

I don't normally play western, so I was on the fence with this one. But after pulling the trigger and getting it I have to say: Wow, I love the SET!!! No need to use it for just western, this will work fine for Fantasy too |

Just bought the set and I'm very pleased! I particularly like the flat roofs that have a distinct "weathered" texture to the boards. |

Post subject: | Re: ***RELEASED*** Deadfall: Building Essentials |
I realized my "problem" with the set, and it was something I never even realized until i was talking about the trees in the area where the encounter was taking place for my deadlands game (and the PC's even assumed it was desert) . I will have to see if there is a kitbash (already), or work around. Not everything in the west was sandy desert, my Deadlands game is set in the Black Hills and Deadwood, which was pretty green and forest-ie (so Hinterlands is going to get a use). The Saguaros in Streets of blood work great for Tombstone AZ, as Saguaros are only found in the Sonora desert of Az and Sonora Mexico (and a very very small portion of Cali). I need Prairies and grass land for my railroad to cut across. The streets can work as it would likely be a dirt road and no grass in town, but between buildings or the outskirts, or even farther out of town grass is what i want. Some Hinterlands will likely work for sections, but I got to look around to see if there is a nice unbroken Prairie tile (or 4) anywhere. It looks great but darn I need grassland. |

Are you basically looking for a TLX version of the perfect grassland tiles from the hilltop encounters set? |

Post subject: | Re: ***RELEASED*** Deadfall: Building Essentials |
Just went and looked at the hilltop (it was a freebeie), and yeah that would work. Sine there are no walls doesn't need anchors, and the 7x7 can be cut down to 6x6 to put on TLX if i want. Cool beans, I now have the forest from hinterlands, and grass from hill tops... Happy again. |

Post subject: | Re: ***RELEASED*** Deadfall: Building Essentials |
I'm running into the same thing because my Deadlands game is a "walking the earth" game that will need plenty of Hinterlands terrain, but also need prairie tiles. Some Streets of Blood/Hinterlands transition tile kitbashes would be awesome. |

I am going to have to look at making a kitbash of the Prairie railroad... |

Looking at this for Fallout - works well for the area under the control of the NCR. A post-Apocalyptic booster might work well for folks running Hell on Earth as well. The Auld Grump |
