Hi gang! Well, its been a good long while since I've dropped an update and with very good reason. I can't keep the lid on this for much longer so its time to talk shop with all of you... First of all I want to assure you that WWG releases are still incoming and that there are very dedicated people behind the scenes continuing with the work. In fact Matt has 2 projects just waiting in the wings in Beta and you should be seeing those in the near future. Other projects are planned but as always, it comes down to the availability and schedule of the involved designers. For my part (and the reason I've been generally quiet); Last year I made a full-time shift into the videogame industry with a local developer. The work came out of the blue but it's an industry I've subcontracted in previously and went to school for all those years ago. Anyway, after the project had concluded with the studio, several factors pushed me into creating a new partnered business entity http://www.cloudheadgames.com with none other than Christopher Roe! Once formed, we quickly set to work on our first studio project, one that utilizes cutting edge technology to bring gamers a truly unique experience. So what is it that we've been working on? The Gallery is a deeply immersive adventure that places you in the shoes of an Urban Explorer who stumbles upon an ancient secret lost to time. The Gallery utilizes cutting edge hardware via the virtual reality headset. For those of you who don't know what the Oculus Rift is or watch some great from the early prototype. The Gallery is not simply "Rift compatible" but a game that truly leverages the design sensibilities and challenges that a virtual reality experience brings to players. Oculus if fond of saying that it is the Indies who will lead the charge, take the risks and venture into VR, Cloudhead Games hopes The Gallery will help fill that niche. And while our game is perfectly playable with a standard mouse/keyboard/monitor setup, users of the Rift will have a very unique experience. Additional information, video and screens will be revealed later this February. In the short term we'll be sure to keep you updated here or you can track the project via . Here's a few pre-Alpha screens in the mean time. Thanks for reading and talk to you soon! Who watches you? Who guides you? What awaits you? This looks great! I have been intrigued about the Rift since I first heard about it some months back. I can't wait to see what comes of it. I became a fan of the Facebook page and will watch patiently for updates. |

Thanks guys. Not strictly paper model related we realize but we thought that you, like us, are likely gamers in all mediums. This is something we've talked about for ages and we're glad to finally have the opportunity to take the right steps on the path. We hope everyone here can join us on that journey since its a community that we really cherish on a few levels. |

Shiny! I have to say that the logo for Cloudhead games reminds me a lot of Denny... Is that intentional? |

Denny I'd like to go on record as wishing you the absolute bestest of luck with this new venture. You deserve success in everything you do. However, please don't forget the non-video gamers amongst you faithful following. I await Matt's new offerings with interest and would be very keen to see A) some more Wormhole releases B) the completion of the Shellendrak Manor TLX sets C) more buildings sets in the style of Thoumonts and Feisty Friar D) the Obsidian Gale set E) Anything else Fantasy related So, enjoy your new venture, but please, please, please keep the cardstock modelling stuff rolling out. Thanks guys! Hey Frank not to worry. As I said at the very top of the thread, we've got Matt working away as always with 2 new releases coming up. Bob Cooper has been picking at Shellendrak East, Tomas working through Friar stables, Cherno on TLX Industrial and on it goes. I mean, there are a lot of projects we just don't talk about because they are designer/time dependent. Rather than making fans suffer through endless teasing about this or that coming, we made a choice a long time ago to keep projects created by part-timers away from public view. Only "sure things" get mentioned publicly. For me (and Chris) the videogame thing came at a time where it was both desired and needed. Given that WWG is over a decade old now, it basically runs under its own steam. There's no shortage of projects and there are always creators wanting to express themselves in this format. So, business as usual over here ![]() ![]() |

Hi guys! We thought you'd like to see a little teaser showing an "environmental still" from one of our game environments. There's a lot of care and attention going into these environments and you can only really get a sense of that from just sort of taking a minute to soak things in ![]() |

A couple more teaser shots. A lot of focus is being placed on body persistence, gear interaction and related details. We hope to include a female hero as well so that everyone is represented and can feel more comfortable in their virtual skin ![]() ![]() |

This is amazingly great guys. I hadn't been around recently between being busy with a new job, and finding out I'm going to become a dad later this year, but suddenly a news item came across the ancient and mostly dead Riven/Myst mailing list today announcing someone was running a Kickstarter for a new Myst inspired game. Imagine my surprise when I scroll down and see it's by Denny and company! So I'm happy to be back here again and already trying to figure out how old a kid needs to be until you can introduce them to tabletop gaming. And looking forward to playing the game later this year! |

Denny, that's looking great, really great. Very nice job on the Kickstarter video. I've posted about this on the MystOnline forums (already received one positive response) and on The Lyst the longest standing mailing list for Myst fans. @Shinohara Great to see you back. Didn't know you were another Lyst lurker as well. Congrats on your impending fatherhood. ![]() |
