I have been here since 2004, about a 9 year run for me on WWG, for the last few years I have looked forward to the X-mass sale to pick up a few missed sets... but nothing this year. 2009 2010 2011 2012 while not X-mass 2013...??? Sad to see things end like this... |

All good things... I hope WWG can be resurrected - or at least TerrainLINX can be licensed out to other manufacturers and we can get new product that way. Unfortunately, a lack of communication is not uncommon when things are about to go away. I had a go-to site for computer memory, Orcalogic. I'd swear they were psychic - you'd order something late one evening and it would be there in your hands the next morning. Given I was on the Shetland Islands, the only way that's possible is if it was in the post *before* I'd ordered it. One day, the site is just gone. No explanation, no nothing. I think we're lucky to still have the WWG site here and accessible! Just hope they keep paying the hosting bills. Whatever the future holds, WWG have produced some of the best paper terrain I've run through my printer. I like Fat Dragon's EZDungeons line but it doesn't store anywhere near as well as TerrainLINX. This stuff, I LOVE. |

I agree the store is on auto pilot, why not? It is set to run on auto pilot so it takes little of there time. Has been that way for a long time, in fact, as long as I remember, which is 09 if I remember correctly. But that is the way it should be. In an online world, why should the proprietor have to personally hand you the item bought and then say thank you? He has a program for that. As for the three offers you are aware of, how about the one(s) you are not aware of? Maybe Denny has an offer he has come to terms with, just waiting on the i's to be dotted and the t's to be crossed. Lawyers live in a world totally devoid of humanity when it comes to speeding things up. They get things done, in whatever time it gets done in, and it makes no sense to them when you say hurry up. They continue to turn the wheels when ever they get around to turning them. They have no concern for you or my or anyone's concerns. They will be done when they are done. Denny is most likely in no hurry. I suspect he has almost as little concern for hurrying this thing up as it is a problem that will go away one day and leave him with a bit of pocket money. It's not a big deal to anyone, but us. And we are not exactly making anyone rich, or Denny may never have become interested in game design, another career path that is not exactly known to make many people rich. We buy this stuff because we like it. It pleases us to give them our little bit of money on an infrequent basis. But I can't for the life of me, figure out why anyone feels entitled to buy product that the owner of this company does not feel like taking the time to produce. He is busy. He has other interests. He wants to make more money for his family, and do something he has been wanting to do so badly for so long. He has a chance to follow his path. Our desires for product should have no bearing on what he does or does not choose to do. I really want the dangled Stables product WWG has teased me with. It's not coming. I know that. I am disappointed to a much larger degree than I have a right to be. But that is the way it looks like it will be. I don't have a lot of weight on Denny's decision. Wouldn't feel comfortable if I did. |

Only 2 TLX are on Paizo that I saw: Himmerveil Canals, and Himmelveil Sewers Booster. What doesn't make sense to me is why the Booster would be there without the main Sewer set. And what about the Himmerveil Streets? and the rest? Perhaps they are being added as time permits... which would fall into line with the way things have been going lately, unfortunately. If so, the main Sewer set should have been made available first, then the Booster. Perhaps it's a ploy to redirect traffic back here ... |

Again, I get it. My point was simply that if Denny, et al., just don't have the time to check in, and have left WWG to the winds otherwise, it really seems unlikely that they would take the time and effort to set up a sale. Not impossible, but more unlikely than my winning a 'tactful man of the year' award. Expectations of 'stuff' of any time on WWG, at this point, would be a little foolish. |

TLDR: the WWG catalogue on Paizo is an old legacy that allows people to get old WWG sets that have otherwise been retired. WWG used to sell through other sites as well as its own store. In July 2011 WWG made major revisions to the way it sold it's products. This included: a major upgrade to the WWG storefront, dropping sales from external sites, lowering prices and providing free kitbashes for sets bought through WWG, and retiring old/superseded sets (which both rationalised the product range and simplified the migration to the new WWG storefront). In the midst of all that work, Denny forgot about the catalogue on Paizo (which at that point included two TLX sets, Himmelveil Streets and the Himmelveil Sewers Booster). People were asking where they could still get retired WWG sets after the launch of the new WWG storefront, so Denny left the Paizo catalogue as it was ... and it's been like that ever since. All subsequent changes to WWG's catalogue have been made through the WWG storefront only. The WWG catalogue on Paizo is unchanged since mid-2011. As for why the Sewers Booster is on Paizo and not the base Sewers set? My guess is someone simply forgot to put the Sewers set there. |

The problem is: Will there be anything other than just PDFs left once they get the spare "cycles" to sell the business? People have offered to help keep the brand alive (you know my hobby horse: relaxing the kitbash rules that stifle supporters creations which do exactly this.) Heck I'm a contributor to cutfiles for the Maiden! Unless Mel Ebbles had campaigned hard our our behalf that would still be against the rules! Every day you let your IP based (and fan supported) business languish, it loses value. Period. That's not trashing anyone, it's just the nature of business. I think a tiny investment of time (<1hr per week) could have kept things in much better shape for the fans an any potential buyer. It's all about tradeoffs. |

On the Xmas sale front though, there is about $50 worth of stuff (peripherally fantasy related)in the WWG catalogue that I don't own and almost definitely will never build. However, if a sale did go up and they were reduce by (say) 30%, I would definitely buy them, just for posterity's sake. #justsaying |

Besides those of us who know about and still want sets that are up and on the site, people will wander into this place and buy stuff just because of the awesome factor. They could remain unaware of the community that used to exist. King of like some old Star Trek show where the old machines from an ancient civilization still turned on and functioning long after that civilization had destroyed itself. I expect to be able to wander in here and purchase some of the sci-fi stuff in a few years, unless Denny pulls the plug because the hosting fees outweigh the income from the sale of stuff. |
