Here's a new logo I've been playing with. Nothing written in stone, just looking for your thoughts on it. Like it? Hate it? Let me know ![]() |

Hey, what are you doing out of your cage? Get back in there and build us some more models! On a more constructive note ![]() As far as I'm concerned, you couldn't do any better than grabbing one of your models off the shelf, and taking a picture of *that* to incorporate into your logo... |

The logo itself looks great! Very eye-catching. I just don't like the bending perspective of the border. |

Well, a logo is intended for quick product/business recognition. It should striking and easily recognizable at a glance and it should work well in both color and b&w when enlarged and when reduced. It appears to me that the new version is heading more towards a surrealistic illustration than a logo. I suspect that when its reduced in size the multitude of detail is going to wash out a lot of its effectiveness in capturing the eye and providing quick product recognition. (If you reduce the suggested logo to the size of the logo in the upper left side of the banner of this page and compare the two, which will come across as the stronger design?) There is also the question as to whether or not a new design is needed, especially if you already have product recognition with the current one. Is there something more that you feel is needed or want to say with it? If it is needed you might consider a more evolutionary approach -- a design that has the current one's strength and at first glance at least reminds the viewer of your current logo. If the viewer has time to study the suggested logo, its definitely WorldWorks, but I don't know that it would make the cut on the "glance criteria," especially at a reduced scale or in b&w. (This is part of why corporations spend millions to end up with designs that are similar to their previous ones.) Interesting piece of artwork, though. [I tend to prefer more minimalist higher contrast images for logos so that is where I'm coming from in my comments above.] Hope this helps ... |
