Greetings, Second post and looking through the threads I'm trying to get a good handle on things. I am looking at all the MODERN products. What I understand is that some of the modern products are TLX compatible while others are not. How 'wrong' do these products look together (TLX next to non TLX)? Again, I am interested in purchasing ALL of the modern stuff, but don't want repeats or products that do not match up. Going by the pictures they all look fantastic. Is the only difference the way they are connected? Is there a way to 'make' the products TLX compatible? Is there a plan to make the non TLX into TLX. I know these are a lot of questions, but any information would be greatly appreciated. Ambrose |

It's just a layout planner. It'll help by printing out a list of components you need to print and assemble like walls, posts, tiles, etc. Terraclips is their physical product that they released 6 sets of. That means it's a box of parts that you can purchase in a store and just take home and assemble rooms and buildings with. No printing, no gluing, no nothing. I think they're mostly sold out across most gaming web sites, though, so you might have trouble finding them if you want them. |

Other folks on here can answer your non-TLX/TLX questions better than I, as I've not built much of the non-TLX stuff. Some sets easily will work with the TLX stuff. Some might be a little tougher, I'd guess. From what I can tell, the primary difference is that the TLX stuff is built to connect together a certain way. You don't always want everything to connect together, though. The other big difference is that most pre-TLX sets were designed on a 7 inch by 7 inch size floor, while TLX is 6 inch by 6 inch. So, if you built some of each style and put them together, they might not line up perfectly. For some sets that won't matter, though. |

So any TLX line does not require to be printed? So MAYHEM TRAFFIC from the Propsmaster line I have to print out and put together but the MAYHEM SERVICES from the TerrainLinX line comes in a box to my door and all I have to do is put it together? Is there a guide? Ambrose |

Hmm...something got lost in translation there, I think. Let's see if I can clear it up. There are, generally, 4 or 5 types of products that WWG makes/has made: Non-TLX Generally, these are the older sets that predate the introduction of TLX. Still very good, but usually they're designed upon a 7" x 7" scale. You would purchase the set and would print and cut and glue it all. TLX Properly called TerrainLinx, these are newer sets that introduced a great way to assemble and reassemble the pieces so you get a lot of customization and reuse out of them. Generally, built on a 6" x 6" scale. You would purchase the set and would print and cut and glue it all. More work up front than the non-TLX sets, but lots of reusability. TCP Properly called TerraClips, there are only 6 sets of them. These were made in a deal with Wyrd Miniatures. They're physical products that you cannot purchase through the WWG store. They're sold by game stores and online stores. They're rumored to be very hard to find now as they went through limited runs and there hasn't been any word of possible reprints someday. You purchase the set, open it, and start assembling pieces together. No printing, no cutting, no gluing. If you buy them, make sure to buy at least 1 box of clips, as the sets do not come with them. Swift Scenics These are newer sets that are designed for little-to-no customization and variability, but are usually made to fit the 6" x 6" scale that TLX uses, so they can be used together easily. You would purchase the set and would print and cut and glue it all. Propsmaster These generally are just add-on bits designed to fit well with 1 or more existing sets. Because they're not full floors and walls and buildings, they generally work well with ANY sorts of terrain, including those by other companies or even stuff like Dwarven Forge. There are a smattering of other "categories" or "lines" in the WWG store, but this covers the vast majority of them. Hope that helps! |

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread, but I've started to download my new stuff! There is a file in the folder that says GSD. I do not know what this is, and it says to get a program from the site. Any idea where I can find this?? Ambrose |

GSD files are only used for robocutters. If you purchase one, this file is the template you would open in Silhouette Studio (by far the most common software used for robocutters for papercraft) that tells it where to cut and where to score. If you don't have a cutter, then you don't need them, but I wouldn't delete them, either--in case you decide to purchase one someday. |
