Hmmm, the first company to offer the old TSR supplements as downloadable files is now getting out of the downloads end of the business. From what I recall they were never the most popular choice with PDF publishers, having a poor percentage for the publisher, and a very strange format for downloads (The PDF is broken into chunks, then the chunks are downloaded separately and reassembled by a specialized program), not getting back in contact with publishers after negotiations began, and generally poor service on that end of things. I bought a few things from them before discovering RPGNow.com then never bought another download from them again. I suspect that RPGNow pretty much killed their PDF operation, having a wider selection and much better service. Now that there are other options as well it was either start reworking their system, or dump the PDFs. In fairness the mail order side of the business seemed just fine, I have made a few orders from them, and got my orders quickly and without difficulty. The Auld Grump |

I downloaded the free Ravenloft Gaz as well. Once I get a new job, and money is stable, I plan on picking up enough RL materials to start my group on a few adventures. I own 15 or so Ravenloft books, and I've always loved the series. Whenever I'm in a used bookstore, I always check the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section for Ravenloft and Shadowrun books. Anyone used the Ravenloft setting and rules? |

A friend of mine does, he likes it. But given that his wife just had a second child, he is working two jobs, and has just bought a house he is not getting in much gaming of late. There are some free Ravenloft downloads on the as well. They are from previous editions of the game, so will need to be converted if you are using 3.x as your rules. Other old TSR Ravenloft downloads are available for purchase at for about 5 bucks each, including the original Ravenloft. The Auld Grump, it seems like everyone I know is either getting married or getting divorced... ah Spring! |
