Just so you know, White Wolf (from the beginning) had said the World of Darkness would come to an end.

They had an over-arching plotline that they wanted to flush out and fullfill, and once they did, they moved on. I think that regardless of what you think of the system itself, a company that large (2nd largest RPG manufacturer, right behind WotC) actually sticking to such a huge promise is valiant.

White Wolf could have milked the original WoD for many more years, but they knew they wanted to move on. So they changed the underlying structure of the World of Darkness, fundamentally changing what it means to be supernatural in nature (be you Vampire, Werewolf, or Mage), so they could develop an entirely new setting for people who want something different.

Think of it this way: how often do you get a chance to play in a system that is truly complete? The original WoD offers that to a degree that no other game system can.

I hear people complain that White Wolf has changed. I applaud them for sticking to a promise, and offering me more choices as a gamer. If I choose not to play their new system, then that's my choice. But, it was my choice to play the original system, too.

I just like having options. And I'll happily support a game company that sticks to their word.

White Wolf seems to be in a variety of product lines, not just the vampire stuff. It'll be good to have a solid name associated with the WWG name.
