One of my next projects is to build the Maiden as well, the Maiden, instead of kitbashing her. It is a fantastic model though, but somewhat complex. Not impossible to build if you take your time and have patience. Skunk Check out my fantasy campaign, Wizard Quest, a world using Wizards of the Coast’s 3.5 DnD system by visiting . Check out the flash teaser for my sci-fi campaign, , coming Jan 2007. I’ll be using D20 Future for the rules. Check out what games I’m working on and their status by visiting . It is an overused metaphor, but building the Maiden really is a lot like eating an elephant. Piece by piece, and its pretty simple. Looking at the whole big thing, yeah, its daunting. When I started, I just set a goal for a few pieces each night. That worked well; I didn't worry about the final product, just a few things. One night it would be the decking, one would be the sterncastle, one the forecastle, one masts, etc - until one day I was putting the masts through all the decks and suddenly I had a full built Maiden. I'm about to start another one, this one I'm going to modify to be a smaller two master (sans forecastle, but with sterncastle). I'm going through the same thing - okay, tonight I'm going to do X, then tomorrow night Y, then Z ... then sooner rather than later it will be done. |
