I think if we're to throw some ideas around, we might need to know if this is an alien set, or a human set. ![]() That would lay to rest one rumor, at least. ![]() If it's a human set, which I suspect, here's a couple ideas: - Turbolifts. In the future, there's got to be a better way to travel from floor to floor than stairs. Even if they're non-functional, this is a necessity for any base. - Landing bay. Something that would be modular enough to build a bay for a couple First Lights to land in, or small enough for just a shuttlecraft or escape pod. - More variety of bunk options. Higher ranking members wouldn't be sharing a room, so a double bunk is a little out of place. Maybe a bed that can fold down from the wall? - Bubble-dome habitats in various sizes. You could have a larger dome for more populous areas, or tiny domes for storage of hazardous materials/people. The domes might include quite a bit of transparencies. - Connecting tunnels, to bridge the domes together. Also built with transparencies. Because a view of red desert never gets old. ![]() - Buggies! Something to tool around the planet in, when you don't need to go far enough to take the shuttlecraft. They should be the lunar-lander style, with big, oversized wheels. - Hydroponics station. This could include a greenhouse, too. Something to produce oxygen for the base. (And something to sabotage, of course!) - Transporter room, for the Trekkies. It should be fairly easy to plop this into the First Light, too. - The Omega 13! (Since this may be a bit hard to do in cardstock, maybe start with just the "dumb, spinning fan we see in each episode." ![]() |

well if its mars, you need red land tiles. Flat land, cratered land, how about a great big crater that's twoo feet across? Ridges and other cool land stuff would be good. red boulders would be fun a few leftover mars probes and rovers would be nice to have lying around the landscape an observation bunker, like the kind garibaldi, franklin and lyta took over in season 4 of Bab5... A hint of something buried in the sand.... Janx |

How about various kinds of crystals/monoliths? I know there are the obelisks in Skull Cove, but now we're talking alien stuff here! I'd like it to either have a similar style to FirstLight, or be completely alien. EDIT: Or both ![]() |

Science Base? (Asimov themed? Martian Chronicles, Aliens[tm]) ? Military Base? (Aliens, Doom_Doom III inspired) ? If you were going to do an Alien theme I'd like to see something thematically like Bungies' original Phoor ships from Marathon (and later borrowed and elaborated on in Halo & Halo2). While I know this is rather monolithic in scale & ambition, the "feel" is more of what I mean. Some vertical elements would be very nice. -Floyd |

Pall_S, if you decide to include domes in your set this website has a lot of information about domes. The Dome Calculator is very helpfull in the design of a dome. I have used it to build domes of many different sizes. |

Galaxy Quest is a riot man! I wore out my copy on VHS before I got the DVD. _______ So a human base. Hmmm..... I'm still partial to the look of Doom(3) & Alien myself. And it would tie into what I've seen of the Rezolution starter set. But maybe keeping some of your FirstLight style and "Owain Yards" theme. Still a darker palette than FirstLight. A question, is their an artificial atmospher setup on Mars in the Rez world? Specific items of interest: An abandoned mining facility, Habitat, Science center. A surface vehicle or 2 if just for a cover prop. A lading pad. A Med lab, a Rec room(ala The Thing). Computer terminals. Equipment bins. -Floyd |
