| Post subject: | Masthead on the Maiden? |
Has anyone used the Mermaid masthead on the Maiden? I was putting it together today as one of the final touches on my 2-master, but it didn't fit. The tail of the mermaid is just too big - it doesn't fit under the bowspirt (and on mine, its not even close). Thinking maybe I misaligned something, I tried it on my full build of the Maiden - nothing doing there either. Anyone else have luck with it? Did I just do something dreadfully wrong somewhere on both builds? |

Looking at it appears that the head and tail are supposed to go on one side of the bowsprit or another. None of my Maidens have had the figurehead except for the partial one used in the mariner's church, and I no longer have that for comparison. The Auld Grump. |
