It's always a bit odd talking about things that I once took for absolute fact, and only doubt because of the gap of time. I used to live in an old house, replete with the type of keyholes you could look through. When I was about 10, I was alone in the house (latchkey kid, back when that was okay) and went into my bedroom and shut the door. Can't remember what made me do it, but I looked through the keyhole, and saw a figure cross my line of sight, from the bathroom to the kitchen. I opened the door, and (of course) no one was there. I aksed my Mom about it later, and she told me that the previous resident was an old lady who had died on the toilet. From that point on, I started to pay more attention to such things, and developed an interest in the supernatural and the occult. When I was 20, one of my good firends lived next door to me, in one of four old homes that were rented out. I lived in another. There would be strong presences in our house, that would have us following it by sight, until we realized that everyone else in the room was doing the same thing. Also, we joked about my friend's house having a "Pepsi Vampire" in her room. When you drank a Pepsi in her room, it was virtually flavorless; almost water. You could lean out her window or walk into another room, and the flavor would return. And it did discriminate brands. Never happened with any other colas. Nothing odd has happened around me for many years, so I tend to dismiss it all, now. But you never know. |

I'd like to believe in ghosts, but I'm skeptical at best. I've heard hundreds of weird stories and such when I was into this type of thing years ago, but I've never seen anything to make me say I believe in ghosts. I need hard proof, not an uneasy feeling. It's amazing the more that people want to believe in ghosts, the more episodes with the "supernatural" they seem to claim. I guess that's a testament to how much we can miss those close to us. |
