I don't know how many of you are fans of J.K.Rowlings literature. But I am a big fan. She's got quite a gift for story telling.I find her style to be very illustrative and absorbing, interesting and fantastic. And delivered in a superbly entertaining way. Plus some excellent story plots.

I think that she writes Childrens Literature to children that does not talk down to them. Dumb things down or even dilute a rather twisted and convoluted but infinately intersting story of young Harry Potter.

I think Stephen Kings quote on the dust jacket pretty much sums it up perfectly;

...." 'the distinction between Children's Literature and plain old 'literature' has ceased to exist . . . .This is one series not just for the Decade, but for the ages."

The only thing that has made this series even better is the AudioBook versions. Read by the amazing Jim Dale. I don't know anyone whom has done some many distintly recognizable and different voices. He has breathed even more life into Rowling's characters. And bar none is the best audiobook reader I've heard. He's spot on, on some many of them it's scary...

I've only had spare opportunities to read much of The Half Blood Prince since it's delivery to my door yesturday evening(Thanks Amazon!), but even after 100pages I am completely riveted and wow'ed by some of the early events.

Anyone else enjoying the Series?

I might not call it great literature, but I do consider Harry Potter to be good literature, with the possible exception of Goblet of Fire, which needed a wee bit o' trimming, at least in my opinion.

The Auld Grump

Havnig just finished #6 a few hours ago, I'll say it's at least as good as any of the other HP books. I'm glad to see it wasn't quite as long as the last one (she seems to be streamlining the story a bit). I won't say anything spoilerific, but for those of you not finished with it, prepare for some surprises!
