Wow that;s just spif, spif spiffy! Have to say was not that thrilled originally about the "mars" aspect, but looking at this, i like it. The Crawler looks really good, I can see some Jawas lready commendering this puppy... the Terrain yes works for Mars, or Geonossis, Tattooine or any other dessert ish planet. Must say that it looks very good, The building in the background looks interesting, can we please see more of that next... please :begging: |

ok, from a Rez players point of view.... No rules for vechiles in the game yet, so the tractor is cool, but won't move  , we already have those barriers, with a different graphic on it. A Stop Light... hummm... a piece of equipment, some cliffs.... tiles... and a building in the background... so far the only real useful stuff for Rez is the building and piece of equipment, the tractor is very cool, but just cover in the game.... hope there is more Rez useful stuff. This is just from a Rez players POV., from a card modelers POV, I love it all and want it all...

Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to Denny and Paul for sharing this preview image. You have no idea how much of a difference it makes to see what is coming. We will always complain over the time it takes to release the sets, though we want you to take your time (???), but the only complaint with Mayhem Armory is that we've seen nothing (other than the funny square white box). Now, back to the topic at hand. A very interesting start. Being Mars, it has to have plenty of red dust tiles and hills. What is there so far is a good start and I'm looking forward to seeing other tiles in this set. The traffic light thing seems very odd, as do the concrete blocks. I personally wouldn't use either of them, though I might try to kitbash something from the traffic light. The building at the back left corner intrigues me the most. It looks very nice, with an ancient-futuristic (?) feel. Very cool, and it looks both modular and modern enough to work well with SOM and MA. The moisture vaporator or whatever it is (right hand side) looks cool as cover and decoration. The tracked truck looks very nice. I don't like working with plastic windows (one of the reasons I've stayed away from First Light) but it looks like that could be left off and it still look great. Overall, I love the look of this and would buy it. For gaming purposes though... I look forward to this set, and to creating new layouts for Gangs of Mega-City One. I tried Rezolution while at GenCon and it's a pretty good game. While I understand Mychal's complaint that most of it looks like it'd just be good for cover, that's a large part of the game so it'd be fine. Gangs of Mega-City One also doesn't include vehicle rules... yet, but vehicles really make a scene take on a new life, even if they are only used for cover. Anyway, sorry for the long post. Just an odd question, sorry to side track i really am, but how can Mega City one Not have vehicle Rules when it already has a figure on a vehicle? "Roaring onto the streets comes the Lawmaster, the archetypal justice vehicle of Mega-City One. The Lawmaster bike is guaranteed to give the gangs of the city a hard time as it mounts powerful street cannon, has full artifical intelligence and grants unprecedented mobility to the Judge it carries. This pack also contains a Cadet Judge, ready to learn how to take the Law to the streets!" To keep it on subject... So Far it looks like a set more balanced than many of what comes to my mind for the classic "wargaming" terrain. So far no Ruined Buildings, no craters, simple barricades, no trenches, no barbed wire gun emplacements... Which i like. It looks like a good Sci-fi set that can work with other things than wargames, but still has a good use for that style of games. |

Hmmm, I have an oddball question - will the crawler fit through the cargo bay doors in First Light? If so it would make an interesting exploration vehicle. As for the steampunkiness.. I notice that it already has a smokestack of sorts! The Auld Grump - another vehicle so ugly it's purty! |
