I have lost more blood due to focusing on making precise cuts with an X-acto knife than during my entire childhood and playing football and soccer combined. (This also includes "lighting fast reflexes" in catching an X-acto knife point first when it falls off the table while my brain is looking the other way.)

I've never cut myself making cardstock models -- yet. And I almost never use an exacto. A snap off craft knife is preferrable to me, except for cutting foamcore. then I use an exacto
