This model set is an example of what I envision as a standard *micro-release* or "Encounter Set". It's a basic camp set, small and easy to build but a great little event based area for your campaigns. This set will be available in the upcoming issue of Harbinger Magazine but I will also make it available on the official WorldWorks store after launch ![]() |

Verry nice! Now, at the risk of raising AuldGrump's ire... what kind of price range are you thinking of for a "micro-release" like this? |

First off, glad to see it, Denny. And it looks like a cool little set. I really like the idea of the micro releases, especially ones like this that don't readily fit into the theme of upcoming sets (or heck, most of the existing ones). As for pricing, I don't think the subscription model would work here. It creates artificial deadlines, which isn't exactly WWG's strongpoint (no dig inteded, guys, your work is always worth the wait), and the overall quality of products would suffer with that kind of pressure. BUT The next best thing - especially with the immiment advent of the store - is to price these at $3 each (or so, I think that is a good price point, but you might consider a minimum order at the store), but bundle them together on the store for a discount. So, if you HAVE to have it now, you pay a premium, but if you can wait a little, you can shave a few bucks off. |

I like the idea, but I think this set in particular seems a little to simple and basic to sell for over a couple bucks. I know the textures are basically guaraanteed to be amazing, but the modeling on this set is just too simple for me to justify buying it for more than $1.50-3.00, just because it seems to be the kind of thing you have to tailor an encounter to, and not vice versa, it just seems like a very small 1 use piece that will take up more shelf space than game time... (although, as I'm writing this, I've started to think about how you could throw this in to break up the boring travel in a wilderness adventure, so it would still be useful, just kind of a 1 use thing). One of the coolest things about worldworks sets is their extreme modularity, and when you start introducing a lot of these smaller sets, you lose a lot of that advantage (I know you would never go this way bigtime, so you dont have to repeat that you'll continue with the big sets). As a side note, I like robbys idea of selling them for $3, and then giving discounts for combining them... |

That is true, TAG, definitely true. And I think that subscription could work in this case, and possibly quite well. I know I'd subscribe (would also be a good way to get to infuse a little cash into the operation, too). I don't think the typical subscription model (frequency based - once/month, once/2 months, etc) would work very well, for reasons mentioned above. Even with "number of issues" subscription model, Denny & Co would still have to be really careful about setting and maintaining expectations. I can see people (me unfortunately, included) who might get all manner of touchy if they bought a subscription and didn't see a set for 3+ months. |

Ya, while a steady income would be very nice, but knowing the the WW crew, I dun think the subscription idea would work, for reasons previously mentioned... |
