I still have not seen it. I have been told that I will be surprised at how good it is*, my reply has been 'no, I expect it oto be very good.' I just have not taken the time to sit down with Season 1 and watch it. The Auld Grump *For some reason there are folks who think that I am hard to please... My girlfriend knows better, I just have odd tastes in entertainment. |

Well TAG, season 1 is all there is... at least until the film comes out. Firefly has a huge following by TV channels do the strangest thing. I was hooked on watching this show the first time it aired but the suddenly stopped in 3/4 through the season and cancelled it. There was a huge uproar but it was ignored. I really hope some other channel can purchase the series so they can continue, but I don't think it's likely. Definitely pick up the DVD box set though. It's superb. Arabin |

I wouldn't count on there being more shows. At least, not with this crew. As was mentioned, Fox (Fox sucks!) has the show rights locked up. Universal (all praise!) has an option on three movies, the first of which is Serenity. If it succeeds, expect the other two, at least, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more, if the cast consents (and there seems to be a genuine fellowship between them). Thankfully, unlike Star Trek (the genesis of which is uncannily similar to Firefly, or rather, vice versa), the Firefly actors are much younger, and could make these movies for a good long while. ![]() The movie does lack some of the same character as the show, because the medium doesn't support it as well. The little commercial cliffhangers (which Whedon seems to be a master at manipulating), the long, stretched-out moments between the spaces (Mal putting on the blanket in Out of Gas, for example) - these aren't in the movie the same way. But the humor and the writing is just as sharp, the music is just as beautiful, and of course, the movie medium offers a few things that TV can't. |

Time to dust off my Browncoat! Im just wondering when someone will kick out a Firefly RPG.... Of course an RPG means minis.....and minis need terrain and props and vehicles.... It may be an untapped market...but not for long if the movie hits it big! (not just with the die hard fans but with the general public). I would drool at the prospect of a Firefly class transport kit (sort of like the Maiden set). Ahhh but I'm just dreaming. ![]() |

There _is_ a Firefly RPG - the Serenity RPG. You can read more about it here: http://www.margaretweis.com/new/news/index.php - its a "new" system (that really, really closely resembles Savage Worlds). Its not on the shelves yet, but I got a copy from GenCon (signed by Ron Glass, among others). Also, if you check in the Pictures and Layouts sections (links are here http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1665 and here http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1673 ), you can see some diagrams of a Mallard class ship I'm building using First Light and FL: Retrofit, which is inspired by Firefly (and is really just a bigger version of a Firefly ship). Keep on flyin' |

As far as favorite episodes, I've got to go with Objects In Space. Jubal Early has so much weird/great/disturbing dialogue. Twisted character in a wonderfully twisted episode. |
