The mod I bashed together from Mayhem Armory walls would work perfectly for this. If you glue 4 together into a 3-story rectangular building, you can just fold the thing flat into a 10x14 rectangle. May want to have a square insert to put inside the building when you unfold it. Other than that... there were some discussions of a DM's screen consisting of a castle wall with towers on the side. Theoretically, you could build the whole thing like an inside-out pop-up book so you get real 3D towers and everything. Never actually *implemented* this, beyond some sketches on graph paper, but I still think this'd be really cool... |

Robby: Could you elaborate on sandwichfolding and the basic accordion fold for the building construction? I'm having trouble visualizing exactly what you mean. Conail... is your BBB kitbash official? How would I go about getting it? (I also need to get MA, too...) I could also get MA and bash my own... ![]() ![]() I'm thinking of getting CWC/DW for some ideas on simpler construction methods. Is there anything I should look for in these sets that might prove helpful? Thanks, |

At the begining of this last summer I built a rather large building (18" across x 21.5" High @ the highest) , bashed from another companys poroduct (MA hadn't been released yet) I knew I'd have storage issues so I needed to make this one lay flat.. so I built it in pieces, and with removable foamcore roof tiles. Later after SOM was relased I quickly scooped that up only to find that the scale was way off... I was running a 1.5" game, and the streets just wouldn't cut it (even the no grid version) so I 'Bashed that as well. Here is the result... a HUGE building that folds down very compact. OK Got it - |

Thanks for the ideas and examples everyone. I'm getting some great ideas on how *not* to reinvent the wheel. ![]() *Very* nice, wildcat! You seem to have solved the storage problem that the 'other company's' buildings have. ![]() Nice 'larger' style streets too! ![]() Archon: Good idea with the russian doll system, but I'm saddled with a 2.25 inch square system, where every building is 2.25x2.25, 2.25x4.50, 4.50x4.50, 6.75x6.75, etc. I'll probably go with the folding system since I can't 'russian doll' it. Grump: I managed to dig up those buildings on RPG Now, and I think I'll check them out for curiosity's sake. I'll run a litle head to head with VW and CWC... Thanks for the heads up. That rubber band idea might be a keeper, as well... I'll try it out ![]() As an aside: it seems like when comparing WWG buildings to other offerings, WW shines over the competition in both build quality AND artwork. Can't beat a product which is priced better and wins in quality overall. ![]() |

I have many of the other Buildings from the 'Other company" as well... and I've used the stacking way to store them for a while... I also 'Bashed' them to a 1.5" scale... I'm telling you that it was no picnic increasing those models.. And even the street tiles were tough... I couldn't just increase the whole thing by 1.5... the sidewalks were already the right size... just had to incease the streets... then the intersections <groan>... |

I dont want to imply that your stupid, but you know that SOM does have a 1.5 inch grid option, right? I'm just guessing that it just wasnt the same size tile as the ones you were using before, but I just want to clarify... |

Thanx for not implying anything... I'll post the pics of the mods so you can better see what I did... and Yes the 1.5 grid just wasn't going to work. Here we go... SOM 1.5 |

Looks great! Sacretis, who feels like emulating TAG, and should be doing his Chinese homework right now... |
