Fun through adversity!
On my way to Safe Haven, traffic was terrible, and I found out why: a water control had plugged (it had been storming something fierce the previous night), and flooded the other side of the freeway in Fairfied! They were pushing water over the dividing wall as we inched by...
One at the store, though, we had a great time, and finally left about 1am to get some shut-eye before the 40k Tournament the next day. Logan left at about 4am - and as he got into his car, the power went out for that part of town!
The next day, we arrived for the tournament, and power still hadn't been restored. Ever the die-hard gamers, we moved the tables to the front of the store, to capture as much sunlight as we could, and a couple of the guys bought some flashlights to help out. Once we had everything set up and ready to go - the power came back on!
It was my first tournament ever, and I'm pretty happy with my performance. I actually won the first battle (got a buy on one, and got decimated on two others
) We had a blast. I hope you "local" guys can come join us someday!
