Post subject: | Scale of Vehicles in Mayhem |
I just wanted to get a confirm of something - would it be accurate to say the vehicles in Mayhem (Van, Truck, etc) - they seem to be more scaled for the 1.5" crowd than the 1" crowd? I really like them, but they look VERY big on a 1" board. I'm considering printing them at 65%-75% or so in the future, just because they're so big (comparatively). The van, for example, is 4" long, and the pickup truck is a little bit over that. As always, thanks. |

I relation to miniatures they look perfectly scale, but yeah, they do look a bit big on the board. That's mainly because the buildings aren't true to scale; they'd be too large. |

I designed the vehicles based on the size of the average 28mm figure and so they'd fit on the mayhem city streets (which are a bit on the tight side). One of the problems with a dual-scale set is that you can't really tailor it to either scale without making one of them look way off. |

Also, 28mm minis ride tall when they're based. I've seen some cardstock "true 30mm" vehicle sets with cars looking *way* too small. They 'heroic' proportions and base size of many 30mm figures seems to bump up the size the vehicles need to be. Of course, I don't have either Armory or Bits (yet), so I can't comment on how the vehicles look on the table. I think Matt said it best in an earlier post: he uses his "LuksRite(tm)" scaling system, and it seems to work all right. ![]() |
