Finally, after many, many months of stalling and waiting for the "Next Big Announcement" from Apple, I've got one in my hot little hands! 
Wow. Going from a 12" screen to a 20" is... awe inspiring. I can actually see the whole screen! Can't wait to use Photoshop... Sorry, guys - had to share.

Your've done yourself a huge service and your eyes a extended shelf life. Not to mention that the system is pretty sweet with its new intel chip set. My younger brother has just started working with Apple and the word is that there are "Big things" comming for the notebook/laptop range - the Mac bookpro (or what ever its called) is a stop gap filler it seems. Sounds great Aleph! Got a 17.9 viewable myself on each of my two computers. Ran with a 19.x viewable till it failed and switched back and forth between the two with a keyboard/mouse/monitor switch. That was when I had my smaller desk, before the one that I have now. I'm lucky though, my wife really isn't interested in computers, so they're all mine!

Thanks for the report, Aleph. I've been thinking about getting the new iMac later on this year and your information -- especially on how it handles Photoshop in Rosetta -- has helped to solidify my decision to do so. Now if I can just convince the Navy to get me one for work .... |
