Steampunk. Its just something you never see and, by golly, I'd like to!

Cyberpunk for me. I want my Streets of Mayhem to become Night City streets. The best solution for me would be a Cyberpunk set that is fully compatible with Streets of Mayhem. That would suit our 5150 games beautifully, as I am already combining elements of PCON with the Urban Mayhem sets. One day I might even take pictures of our games. All I have to do is remember to take my camera to the club.

Second choice after Cyberpunk would be Well-used Future. Again it would be great if it was designed to fit in with SoM and for the same reasons.

I was kinda hoping for a sci fi western kinda like Firefly or the movie Serenity.

I'd go for anything that would fit in with the existing Mayhem look, but add a bit more Sci-Fi feel to it. Rusty Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk and/or Shiny Sci-Fi buildings.

Well, by my count in 4 years WWG has produced:
16 fantasy
5 sci-fi
4 modern
2 pirate

The way I figure it, if they can branch out into new areas, they might bring more folks to the cardstock terrain party, which would allow Denny to build up his list of contributors, and we get to see more releases each year.

Let's say they have (picking a number here) four designers. I'll bet two of them are working on fantasy (one adventure, one kit), leaving the other two to cover other stuff (modern, fantasy, whatever).

But what if they had 6 designers, or 8? Even if half were always dedicated to fantasy, the number available for other stuff would also grow.

Also, think about potential cross-over.

Victorian can be HG Wells, Dr Jeckel, or a rural seacoast town in modern day Maine. Depending on the style of the buildings, they may even fit Operations Sealion or Overlord during WWII.

Cyberpunk can be far-future Blade Runner, or add to modern day Mayhem. Pulp can stand on it's own anywhere from early 1900's through older sections of towns today, a hundred years later.

I'd love to see them do some funky "modern" buildings that could also easily fit in a sci-fi world, and vice versa. How about a large steel and glass pyramid? Could be an art museum, a cutting edge research facility that needs to be compromised, or Star Fleet HQ.

All of which is why I'd like to see them branch out into areas other than fantasy (but I'm assuming they will always have some fantasy products on front burners).

Ack, I really wish these polls allowed multiple selections.

I voted for Shiny Sci-Fi as I can see a lot of use for a Flash Gordon bright future in my scenes of Mega-City One.

However, I probably should have voted for all. Here are my thoughts:

1) Shiny Science Fiction - This idea has me excited. Grimy sci-fi is all well and good, but sometimes you need a gleaming metropolis like Aoen Flux, The Island, etc.

2) Victorian - I almost voted for this. I don't have any gaming reason to do so right now, but I love the idea and would buy this set.

3) Modern Streets - Going strong, but can never have too much. I'll keep buying.

4) Cyberpunk - This could work for Mega-City One in places, but the city is generally depicted as brighter... more like Fifth Element than Blade Runner. I'd pick this up, but not a priority... and I'm not sure, but is this genre that popular right now?

5) Gothic Modern/Future - Depending on what was done with this set... it could be a "must buy". I'd be interested in looking at least.

6) Well Used Science Fiction - Not top of my list, but more along the lines of Mars Station would be great. The only real problem with Mars Station for me was the red dust on everything.

7) Barbarian - Not of interest to me, but with the miniatures game due in 2007, the online RPG due sometime, and the pen and paper RPG doing really well, this would probably generate a good number of sales for WWG.

8) Fantasy - Much needed, and will sell like hot cakes (do they sell well?) so althought I don't need it right now, it's one that WWG should focus on soon, and I'll most likely pick it up for when I do need it.

9) Western - There are other products out there for this genre that are used very widely. It would be great to see WWG get that business due to the stability of their designs and the incredible textures. I'd pick this up for games set in the Cursed Earth.

10) Steampunk - This genre seems to vary quite a bit. Sometimes I like it if it's done right (Scarlet Traces) but other times mixing it with fantasy bugs me (Thief series). It's one that would be interesting to see, but probably not a top priority.

11) Pulp - Doesn't appeal to me.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

I think it would be fun to have an expansion set of props inspired from the Sci-fi serials of the 40's. Test-tube based equipment...giant rheostats...Jacob Ladders and other spark generators!

I voted Pulp because that is what the folks here in the area seem to want most including my older son.
Personally, there will never be enough Sci-Fi terrain, clean or grungy, to take care of me.
On the other hand, I do not need or want alien sci-fi terrain like ShadowCore whatsoever!
There are not any aliens in the universes I play in - only humans there.

What would be cool plus much more useful, I have only seen it once about five years back, is an auto-poll like above, but it lets you rank your choices.
There was ten choices and the server computer then assigned a value inverse to your choice (you know, what a player ranked #1 would get 10 points and what was ranked #10 would only get 1 point and so forth in between) and then it did the math.
There were fractional numbers as a result, but the poll was WAY MORE accurate!

Denny, can your WEB master do that here?
If yes, we could get a new poll thread going and let everyone vote again, but this time much more accurately, according to what they really want.
This would be much better than the lots of regrets due to only one choice, yes Denny?

How much work would it really be to alter the Mayhem line into several of these choices?
A lot of it is simply changing the texture, yes?

It is not simply a textures trade then, no?
Oh well, there goes the idea that it could only take a bit of effort to swap out textures and come up with whole new sets.
