Some kind of excell database would be great. One of the projects I can never seem to find time for is a catalog with complete set breakdowns. Ideally this would be sortable by item name and have a search function.

I like the idea of a searchable spreadsheet or maybe an access database, although that probably wouldn't be as widely usable. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled at creating that stuff or I'd give it a go, and I'm sure everyone would rather Denny focused on the other aspects of the business... like designing and releasing sets

I tried putting them in my sig line but it seemed a little too long for something appearing on every post... and I don't have as many as others (yet).

For actual file storage, I have them unzipped and in original zip form on my HD, and backed up on a couple of CD's, but it's not very well organized.

Once I get my move out of the way (2 weeks to go) and get things unpacked enough that I can move, I hope to spend a lot more time on building again. Maybe that'll prompt me to get organized

On a side note, I'm not sure if anyone else here also collects/builds with Lego, though I seem to remember one or two people who do, but I have a huge collection of Lego that keeps on growing, and I never have time to fully organize it... but can't stop getting new sets. I hope my cardstock modeling doesn't follow the same pattern

Arabian, I've read here on the forums before about using legos to help hold corners and such at true 90 degree angles. Do find any use for them in your building/builds? I ask becuase I have thought aobut picking up some for just that purpose but do not know how many I would need. I think a small bucket would do it if the only real purpose would be to hold corners strait and free up the hands for other things.

DracRTC, a small bucket would do you just fine. I used to mess around with molds and plaster casting pieces from Hirst Arts, and would use lego bricks to help align the buildings. It took forever to actually build anything and the models were really heavy and fragile, but the lego bricks definitely helped.

The main use for assisting with cardstock builds is when you have thin walls and can brace it both inside and out, squashing together to get a nice crisp corner.
