I was building some more of the ultra-cool IW C&K sets last night when I discovered something (actually a couple of things upon reflection) that I believe are missing from the set. I was working on building a throne room; got the floor, got the dais, the throne (seems kinda small, barely bigger than a regular chair, but that might be me being picky), the red carpet, the walls - however when I went to build a door I realised that there is no provision at all (in any set so far IIRC) for 'double doors' - large sets of doors suitable for big entrances into banquet halls, the aforementioned throne room etc. As it stands now you use the same size door to get into the kitchen or storeroom as you do to see the King, which doesn't seem right even if you go for the 'gold' option. How about it, Denny? Any chance of seeing a double-sized door piece? Preferably in wood and stone varieties, and maybe the gold. Not sure how you would get it out (maybe in the DW expansion set?), but it's definitely something that is lacking. Speaking of doors, it might also be nice to have a door piece that you can put 'under' a wall - if you have the high peaked wall expansion wedged on a regular wall for example, you can't have a door in that wall at the same time. A door that had the fold on the bottom would be very useful; it would have to be flat to work, ideally with a small amount of stone overlap so you could clip-it to the wall, but it could be done. Again, in both regular and double-sized would be nice. In fact, if you allow enough overlap to put a paperclip without covering any of the door, I prefer the flat style doors to the 3-D ones in C&K - for example I never had a problem with the P&I doors simply by using a paperclip to hold the doors flush to the wall. While I'm at it, how about creating extra flags so that there are angled and straight versions for each colour scheme? Presently if I have the high peaked wall behind the throne draped with the angled flags, there isn't any way to have the same colour flags hanging along the flat topped walls. I put this topic here because I don't think any of the above actually warrants an 'expansion' as such, more of an 'add-on'. In fact it probably should be in the basic set if you think about it.....hey Denny, how about adding this to the set currently existing and making it somehow available to those who've already purchased it? I'd even pay for it I'd like to see it so bad :) |
