Anyone have any info on this set that's just appeared on the radar? Genuine information or juicy gossip gratefully received. "Don't let the truth get in the way of a good yarn!" |

Dunno exactly, but the imagery that popped in my mind when I saw it posted was akin to early Doom and Doom2 days. Flashing strobing lights! |

I second Gangs of Mega-City One. I actually think it works better than Necromunda in a lot of ways although I can see not wanting to collect more miniatures, believe me. ![]() |

Agreed, the original price was too much for what you got, but when they dropped to $35 that was "better". Still a little much, but not bad. has it discounted to $28. I picked up mine for Christmas from Dark Basement for $20 ![]() You get a rulebook (worth what, $10) and a dozen plastic multi-part gang figures (sold separately for maybe $15) and dice, and some very flimsy cardstock terrain (not really even cardstock, it feels almost like paper), and a fold-out battlemat. So at $28 from TheWarStore, it feels about right. Steve BTW I was a huge fan of Necromunda, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this game plays out for real (so far I've only read the rules, but they sound good). I have a few pet peeves regarding Necro, and I'm going to see if GOMC1 improves upon those shortcomings. |

Personally I value the rulebook at more than $10, which is why I got a second set... but I have loads of the minis sprues. I picked up a couple of the extra street gang boxes as well. Either way, the campaign system allows this game to go on for a long while with very little outlay. I tried for a long time to provide feedback on the Mongoose forums, then later to push for releases... then for anything at all... and got tired of it. But, IMO, a couple of things that could have really improved the boxed set: 1) Terrain deal with WWG for some Mega-City themed terrain. Unfortunately the game was released about 9 months before Rezolution, and Streets of Mayhem hadn't been released yet, so WWG was still very much a fantasy cardstock company (albeit a great one). 2) Plastic judges on sprues! They could have also released a set like the Street Gang set with more judge sprues... and I would have bought a half a dozen of them. 3) Female gangers on sprues... a major mistake in the rule book was from the artwork depicting males and females, and the two sample gangs actually having one gang all female. Why is that a problem? Because even today, Mongoose has not release any female gangers, only female specialists. It doesn't affect the game since you can use any minis, but the perception was not good. I will be playing the game for a long time to come I think. I never played Necromunda but have heard that GOMC1 is similar, partially due to the material. From what I heard, GW lost the Judge Dredd license shortly before releasing Necromunda, so they changed a couple of details and released the game anyway, which is why you have juves, enforcer types that look a little like judges, etc. I look forward to gaming with you Steve, and if Da Bank lives near Seattle, he is more than wlecome to join us, CCotD and Kane when we hold our get together soon. Don't want more figures that will gather dust unpainted (and still sprued). Also I have not the need of adding more books for me to shift, misplace and store. pdf file are heaven sent. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

Kane, glad to hear it ![]() Lord A - I understand and wish I could help. I do actually own the PDF version of the rules since it was available briefly, but I obviously cannot share that. Hopefully Mongoose will be able to offer the rules again as a PDF one day. Arabin |

Just wondering about the name of the upcoming expansion. The original set was Platform Command: Operation Nightwatch, but the expansion is PCON: Red Sector... shouldn't it be PC: Red Sector? Otherwise the full name of the expansion will be Platform Command: Operation Nightwatch: Red Sector! Arabin |
