So I decided last night that I would take the leap and start putting some cardstock stuff together. Id been lurking around here totally impressed by what Denny was putting out but I just wasnt sure it was something I wanted to do. So I finally made up my mind. Im doin it!
Come to find out my wife had spent the last of the black ink out of our piece of crap Lexmark Z23.
Fine, I gotta wait till Sunday after work to go pick some up.
After work I head out to the local Office Max for ink and some other things that I believe I need. I had a moment of panic when they didnt have the right kind of ink for our printer but a store clerk found one for me behind the desk. So I got the ink, a nice big cutting board, some glue, a new zacto knife and some refills. I was all set. Pay for it, get home and print out the Altar, and start feeling pretty keen. I decided to go with the Altar till I figure out which sets I want. They are ALL fantastic and it makes it tuff to pick which one to go with.
Anyway, I go to print out the Dungeon Entrance aswell for practice(and plus they are free!) and the color came out kinda bluish. I figure something is wrong and print a test page only to discover that its out of YELLOW!!! ARGHH!! Freakin ink refills are expensive! Now it probably wont be until Friday when the wife will let me go get the ink(altho I am going to try and sweet talk her  ;D ) THEN I hope to get a WW set.
I did put together the Altar and Dungeon Entrance and was blown away at how great everything looks. I COULD EVEN SEE THE LIGHT REFLECTION ON THE CHAIN CUFFS ON THE ALTAR SET!!
Anyway, just wanted to relay my hardship and to say Hi to everyone.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Renocide. I think weve all suffered from the woes of running out of ink at the worst time. Im sure it will all work out in the end

I used to own a Lexmark. They are the most ink guzzling printers on the planet! I think Canon makes the most ecenomical printers ink wise - being able to buy the color you are out of is a much better way of doing things.

Despite that I now own a HP printer/scanner/copier. I was shocked with a.) How cheap the ink cartridges were compared with Lexmark, and b.) How much longer the cartridge lasts....

The thing had a reasonable price too.

The only thing I miss about the Lexmark is the vastly superior paper positioning, print perfectly square with the edges of the paper. I could print cards and use a paper cutter to chop them by the stack.

I have a Lexmark Z53 and am pretty happy with it.  Granted, it uses more ink than some other printers but I like the end result.  I found a place that has pretty cheap refills.  Someone here posted it actually, but heres the link again:

I ordered a refill kit from them for $18.  It does about 3 refills.  I got the kit within 3 days from them so I can vouch for the service.

Thanks for the link Count. They do have a refill kit for the Z23 but no cheap off brand. Oh well hopefully I wont be stuck with the Lexmark too much longer anyway.
I just wish I never sold my Epson 800. That was the best little printer.
I actually think the wife is giving me the go ahead to get the color tonight so hopefully I wont have to wait till the weekend! Now I just got to see which set I want first. Tuff decision. I will probably go easy on the checking account and get a interior set since I have spent so much on ink.

Renocide, if you want a little advice on which set to buy first, go with Gothicworks!  It is, in my opinion, the most fun to assemble!  The chairs and tables in the Pubs and inns set can be very challenging, but you get more atmosphere from the Gothicsworks set.  Nothng is more fun than to have everythng assembled and when your players ask, "What do we see?" you plop down a corner or a prop or that altar you assembled and watch them go "Whoa!"
