Welcome aboard, TROLL, and well met. I can't help you on your printer issue, but I can say that I'm hard at work trying to pound out WormHole's rules and make it everything you're hoping for and more. |

Welcome to the Forums... Buy lots of cardstock... you'll find that just one set is not enough (to feed the addiction)! A lot of us are looking forward to seeing Wormhole. So you are in good company! Sorry can't help you much on the Printer choice. But I"ve used HPLaser printers before for Cardstock modeling... And it worked perfectly fine for me. ~Floyd |

Here's a shot of the PCON build I'm working on currently. My photography isn't the greatest but I think you can get an idea of how the printer looks. I used the Macro setting on the camera so the top platform closest to the camera is more crisp than the bottom of the tower. In reality the whole thing is that vivid. |

As I remember it, Denny decided to close down the cafepress because of lackluster sales, and the merchandise being based off of an older WWG logo. Sacretis P.S. Posting this from my wii. WOOT! |

I tell you, Floyd, since my miniatures also ran to large buildings, I was always running out of space. So the kids all got their heirlooms early. That left some room ... for a while. Now I need to figure out some way of storing/displaying all of the paper models. I'm putting some into shadow box like frames ... kinda of like 3D posters ... terrain tiles (masterboard)as a background map with the buildings and props on small clear supports in the proper places. Welcome aboard MrM Troll sir. I canna comment on the laserjets at this tinme (I use a cannon i850 and it is great) but at work we have an HP something or other that works gareat. I cannot justify the cost of a color laser printer at this time with the sinificant other, but having a lazer printer makes all the difference as far as durability of what is printed. Though I don't like the glossy part to it, you can get small droplets of ater on the works and have time to wipe it off. My entire Gothic Realms is done with the laser printer from work. It is not finished yet, so I have not posted pictures to the Gallery yet. I highly encourage you to check out the Gallery, therte is some awesome creations to drool over. Regards, CCotD' |

Paul, you sure have designed a lot of fantastic model sets!!! I have spent a great deal of time immersed in building some of them. And more time just sitting and staring at them from every angle. Its a pure joy for me. |
there may be more in common with the RPG groups and Dollhouses than you think
I had wondered if the 1/4" scale would be usable for RPG. I owned a miniatures shop but closed it a long time ago. At the time 1/4" scale was very new and I wondered if it would really catch on. I had such doubts that I never stocked the scale. I have been happy to see some S scale railroad models which must fit pretty well, I'd think in some modern games ... but very, very expensive. The paper model sets are a godsend. |
If there is a hobby shop nearby that has a gaming room, it might be easier for your first experience with RPGs or watching
Thanks for the suggestions, Tom. The nearest hobby store around here is in Memphis or Tupelo, both a couple hours away. But I'll check one or two out the next time I go to Memphis when my sister will be driving. I can't navigate Memphis ... the traffic is horrendous! I putts around the little hamlet here but that's it ... I need a driver for anything else. I'm glad you told me about the noise at conventions ... I think the hobby shops will be better. I think watching a game will be so exciting!!! |

Well I got my Laser printer some time last week (tuesday I think) and ive already started into it. I chose to start on one of Ebbles models as Ive had it for a long time and have not had a chance to actually complete it. but I think my next project will be shellendrak. I would post some images of what I have done for Deralict II but Im not sure if that would be a problem. -side note Cant wait for Wormhole and I will be getting the vinyl mat for sure! oh and the printer works wonders! not a bit of regret! it even came with a full set of carts! and all in all well worth $300 |

I've got these things that blow off my pecan trees every year; they make a terrible mess of the porches and walks. Anyway, it dawned on me recently that they'd make excellent weeping willow tree miniatures. My two corgis have managed to bring in enough with them to experiment with. My sister nearly flipped when I asked to use her food dryer ... so I'm doing it the old fashioned way ... letting them dry up in the window sill. If it works out I'll post a picture of the trees the make. |
