k, i was just looking at the instructions for the fence build in BoM and im confused as to what to do for the transparency part of it. i guess i just print out 1 sheet per fence pieces i want, and fold down the middle and glue them together?? wont that show through?? im confused...anyone care to explain how to build this sucker? |

If you print on transparency, there's no need to fold...you get two fences per page. Cut out around the edges, fold the bases out, and you're done. |

Personally, I just get transparancies printed at office max. They will do 1 or 2 at a time, so I do not have to lay out $40 for a pack of film. 3600dpi firey MMMMMMbaby! |

Here are a couple shots of my take on the fence: Basically, it's a sandwich build with the cardstock print on the outside and the transparency inside. Cut the chainlink sections out of the cardstock portion, edge and glue to the transparency, trim to size and edge what's left. I cut some 1/2" circles from a concrete basetile and glued the fence panel to them, that allows them to stand on their own. Only weak spot is the fold at the the bottom, where the fence post is glued to the base, I stiffened that up with some thin superglue and now they're plenty sturdy. |

I use the non transparency fences but use the triangular concrete block jobbies from SoM as a base. I'll find a picture out to show you what I mean. Cool tower Sawhat. got any more pictures? Mr Blackhammer |

wow! so basically you are printing two copies of each fence page. are you cutting out the middle part of the cardstock fence and leaving the posts? then taking the transp. fence part and glueing that all in? i see what you did, im just wondering how you went about cutting and glueing everything

As I was speaking about above. If you are not worried about ink waste or dont have any image editing skills/ software. Print the cardstock, cut it as directed, then cut out the chain link part leaving the posts. Print the transparency, I assume cut off the tops and bottoms of the post. sandwich that between the folded over cardstock. Exactly like building a transparency in a window. Unfortunately for you, neither of the two sets you own have transparency except for the fence. |

Minor thought: if you're going to use outside materials, I've seen very good barbed wire made from window screening. You cut out one long strand, leaving the stubs of the cross-strands on both sides, if that makes sense. Then give it a twist to make the stubs poke in all directions. Good-looking builds, folks! |

You can usually get the barbed effect if you cut the screen in opposite directions (hard to explain but I hope you get it) |
