I printed out the standees to see what size they are on the table. When built they are in the realm of 33mm (a tad large). What got me slightly annoyed was when trying to remove the white space around the figures there is no nice way of doing this. The black edging is just a pure thick black line that wraps the figure, it is not been designed for a straight edged blade.
I know that it reads silly but try cutting one out... you really don't feel like much thought has gone into end result. Some of the helmets have white spaces between the brow and the shoulder, this space a real bastard to make look natural. The white area between the legs has not one straight line to make the cut easier or faster (a semi tricky cut due to the location) , even the base between the feet.
Now I think I kinda handy with the blade - Ebbles stuff is usually smaller then most WWG cuts so I have been there, but I think these pieces really need to be reworked to give a faster result. As it stands there is a lot of funky tight curves that make life hell for a blade - you need to stop and move the card so the blade doesn't dig up the edge. At the same time there is no run for the blade to cut - look at the knees/legs.
End result of the Commandos is great and sexy don't get me wrong it just seems that do chop out a number of these guys will try the skill of any hobbiest.
The actual built figure sits very nicely and I have had mental thoughts about printing off transparencies to put the glowing weapons in.
Again Matt and Co. I'm loving the style and what they are it is just the unloving lines.
