Some of you may have heard of this stuff before but I thought I'd write up a quick review of it. Granted as I have said in other review threads I can't write good reviews so I hope the product speaks for itself.

White Expanded PVC Foam Board

Thickness: 5mm
Size: 297mm x 210mm (A4) other sizes may be available depending on dealer.
Weight: 159 g or 5.8 oz per sheet. ( I weighed this on my digital scale)

What I like about this is that it costs around the same price as foam board but is easily stronger. I can take a sheet and bend it slightly and it will return back to its original form. No Warping. Thats right this is made from PVC so it is water resistant. It's tough and durable and you will not get squished and bent corners like regular foam board.

CUtting

This takes a sharp hobby or utility knife and a good steel ruler. You will be cutting only slightly longer than with foam board but you will be using a bit more pressure to cut it.

Last night I did 8 Paper Linx sections and this morning my fingers are a bit raw. Good point is that I will never have to worry about the Bow Ties getting damaged! There is a good size L shaped chunk when I'm done but they are perfect for Chunky Dungeons! They could also be used for interior supports for your bulkheads for PCON and Red Sector Give that model a bit more strength.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Clean the surface with a dry dust cloth. You will need contact cement to put paper onto it. I have been using Bison brand.

Strength

Now I've looked everywhere and I could not find the psi strength of the boards but it is very strong. Many building companies are using these instead of plywood for the interior of houses. Note its not stronger than plywood but a strong and lighter alternative.


Not sure what else to tell you other than it is awesome stuff. I will never go back to foam board even if the cost went up. Speaking of cost, I pay £28.00 including shipping for 44, A4 panels now here in Oxford I was paying around £5.00 per sheet of foam board.
