Well, My main computer is up, but got it fixed too late to finish what I planned. went over to a friends house for the weekend and messed around. back at work today but tonight I will have plenty of time to tick away at the Inns and Pubs Alternate Floor tiles, which you all may or may not see depending on if denny likes it.
and about the Castleworks stuff, I think I'm gonna leave that on the shelf for now, because I got some new inspiritation of another project I want to work on.
I saw some paper miniatures in the store the other day and thought it was a cool idea, but I figured, who would buy paper miniatures wargame? I mean come on, if you want to play a wargame, generally you are probably a Warhammer or other ACTUAL miniatures game lover. you paint miniatures and marvel at them, play them in games, and even create terrain to get the full "effect". but paper miniatures you buy from the store don't really have much of that. I mean, yeah you can play a miniatures game with them, but that takes the fun out of painting them, and creating scenery for them, cause paper miniatures clash with gritty real scenery. So I thought, I like miniatures but they are way to expensive, and paper miniatures in a store are Less, but they still cost too much for me to want to buy them, and my theory holds considering they have been there for a couple years now... so anyways, to end my babbling, I want to produce a FREE paper miniatures game that will pretty much spawn its own website(coming).
I will put together the different ARMY groups in the following formats,
PDF Black and White (so you can color them yourselfs with markers, or whatever
)PSD Black and White (yes, I will release them in a black and white file if you have Photoshop or want to use say the free WinGimp for example.)
PDF Color (one color scheme at first, may add a few later for variety)
I think this would be pretty cool, and you could use World Works Games for the Terrain(and I will definately be Touting them) but don't get me wrong. I would be putting together armys of massive duplicates so there is still a BIG reason for you to buy the NPC Works, or whatever Denny is gonna call it. I may even throw out stats for his NPCs if they are compatible shape wise and denny approves.
but anyways, I have brainstormed already how I would shape them for the battle, and already working on a system for them, but the biggest part is yet to come, a Storyline... why are these people fighting, and for what? its gotta be something engaging and more of a reason then just territory.
I will be doing classic races, but they will not be tolkienish, warhammerish, or even D&Dish. it will be a fresh perspective on familiar concepts.
EXAMPLE: Blood Elves... they will not turn into spiders, they are not Black or Brown Skinned, and they will have a method to thier madness... And they will not be completely evil, just twisted.
