Post subject: | WorldWorks Staff at Conventions |
Just wanted to drop a bit of a discussion from elsewhere into the mix here. WorldWorks will not, officially, be making any big appearances on the convention circuit this year. The budget simply isn't there for us to appear at any of the major Cons...at least not in an official capacity. That said, I am gearing up to run a dealer's booth at a small, local convention in Nampa, Idaho this august. I'm working on building and expanding last year's display to be able to display even more WorldWorks goodies, and will hopefully be showing off pictures soon. |

Post subject: | Gen con |
I plan on bringing a couple of my builds to Gencon with me for the booth I help run. I just got a couple people here at work started building and love feeding a new addiction to people. ![]() If you have any promo material you'd like me to hand out, I'd be happy to distribute it. |

Don't forget, if anyone asks you where you got such a cool model... send em to this site. If you are able, you could always print out the business cards too. Arabin |

On a semi-related note, I just sent this off to Tabletop Gaming News. Spread, disseminate, use how you see fit: |

Nice banner. Do you have a more simple version (more static)? Other forums may be more accepting of that type when used in signatures. |

We have cons in Idaho? I've lived here 14 years and never knew that. |

Small and sporadic, but they're there...alas, CDA is still a long ways away from Nampa. You can probably get to WA cons a lot easier than I, though. Fandemonium's not a big thing...I'd say maybe 500 people max. Still, it's something and it's getting the word out where I can. |

Sorry I'm late. I'm always late to the outside discussions: I'm finding that more and more game companies are actually spending their Con budget on smaller anime/gaming conventions so they can appear more often to a wider group of people. For example: Privateer Press hits up and with big Warmachine displays, and and (in Chicago) with smaller but very awesome displays. Wizkids also hits up Dragon*Con and PAX, and totally makes the WotC booths look totally tiny and horrid in comparison. I'm going to PAX in 2008, and I plan on pushing WWG stuff with demo/miniature stuff of Wormhole, Mayhem and hopefully whatever new stuff Denny gets out the door before August of next year (*cough*HIMMELVIEL*cough*). Since Mike Krahulik (Gabe) is busting my nuts to make a PAX, I'm going to try uber hard (I've been friends with Gabe and Tycho prior to their Penny Arcade fame). I already advertise to people at comic book stores in Omaha like crazy. Dragon's Lair is going to let me leave a stack of WWG business cards at the register if only I had a link to some NEW ones (hint hint). |

I'm already on to run a Flintloque game at Warparty in Cincinnati in June and Advance The Colors in September, and will be using Villageworks with the June game, and hope to have Shallendrak ready for the September con, with more Villageworks stuff at a Slaughterloo game sometime during that September con as well. The cards will be printed and standing by for my players and passers-by. Tom |

I was at PAX 2007 and really enjoyed it, though I was very surprised by the large Warmachine stand since it's a video game convention. They were in the corner and I think the little traffic they got was because it was something different. I will be attending PAX 2008 (at least that's the plan) and hope you make it there McClaud... and anyone else for that matter. The long queue to get in went by fast with a pickup group for some wireless Mario Cart racing on my DS ![]() Arabin |
