Great kit!!! I am probably the last here to find this out, but I am really happy with it! This is gonna make my foray into Sci Fi gaming with TOS Star Trek very nice. What is the logical next step for Smokey, the retro fit thing, Shadowcore or Mars Station??? |

I would go for Mars Station... Shadowcore is more in the "Fist light" begin taken by bio-aliens or the interiors of an space-alien-ship/base... While Mars station I belive is more usable in general ! Can make a city in space of it... or an hangar for ships...etc.. But you Know at last you will end with both like all of us !!!

Hell yeah. Shadowcore seems like an instant game scenario. Mars Station has those canyons which I can use for Chaos in Cairo, as the caves of Arkansas base is designed to slip in desert terrian as well. Star Trek TOS will be great!! I can use tons of my terrain for each scenario. Even Arkansas,,,, the Enterprise crew must go back in time to make sure the Clintons don't get near any political office (maybe find the Whitewater evidence  ). I even have those Mega Minis "Important persons" (Bill and Hillary likenesses waiving) and secret service types. (Capn' Kirk is gonna have a hard time keeping focus with all those bimbos running around the Governor's mansion )

Yes, I am fond of FL and FL:RF. They can be used for all sorts of science fiction games, from ST to B5. I am building some locations for use in a Delta Green/Spycraft game, tying it in with a X-Com game I ran two years ago. Shadowcore can be used to good effect for portions of an alien base. I really hope that the sets eventually see a bit more in the way of expansions, They are some of the very best that WW has to offer. The Auld Grump |

On top? Cool!! Right now, I'm messing with the rooms, corridors and bridge (they are built seperate right now), dropping inside some plastic drawer organizers that interlock in any configuration, with drop in mesh floors that I cut, and happen to be in 3x6-15", and 6x6-15" shapes. FL sections fit right in and look great, but I built it to eventually be a Klingon (12 man fighter-that D-7 looking craft "bird of Prey" maybe), with klingon interior. So I'll build a stock First Light, mount it, and add retro fit
BTW, I opened my AMT Bridge, its 1/32 !!!! Beautiful kit, so I either use it as the "Enterprise area", and beam to 25mm terrain/ships to battle (that may be fun, since the bridge is really a prop, and i have all that TOS stuff in 25mm) or build that 25mm paper Enterprise bridge (it is a great color reference). |

When I found out my AMT bridge was 1/32 (beautiful model, just not so good for gaming) I started on the paper build, then my figuires arrived (True 25mm), and the 1/50 scale was giant, Kirks legs wouldn't touch the floor ! So I reprinted to 25mm scale, and thats about it  When we tried TOS gaming, We set my AMT build on a shelf, overlooking the table, and really, thats about all we needed. Just for drama. Then we had those armadillo Starfleet mini ships for space battles on a smaller card table (Wheres the Mat, Denny?? Black material was not impressive for space  )
Trying 5150 TOS for first time, and A Sky Full of Ships for the starship battles was confusing, but awsome. We need a Game Master to make it more RPG, so bad impressions of Spock, Kirk and Scotty mean something. Anyway, that is cool eh? It is NOT easy to build, (maybe for y'all it is), but way cool! |
