Just letting you all know that I'm still fixing a few bugs on the new site. If you experience a broken link here or there please dont panic, Im working on it. Give me until the afternoon on the 3rd and if its still acting wonkey let me know.

Wow!  A lot of work you put into the new site!  

Personally, I'm not a big fan of fly-out menus, mainly because they end up overlapping, flipping on and off, etc.  I don't think you can really change that in your design at this point in time, so I guess it's a moot point.

One suggestion: perhaps you might want to add a "Photo Gallery" section of selected community-created pieces?  You could use it to show custom-made jobs that users have made, conventions and gaming stores that have WorldWorks-featured events, etc.

Ya, the DHTML (fly-out) menus are a necessity as the site is about to grow beyond what could be done practically with traditional menus. It was the best solution given the scale of the new site. I’m still ironing out some bugs on it though. The video is picking my butt a little at the moment as well.

A photogallery of highlights is still in the works. I really want to showcase all of the builds.

Anyway…I’ve been at it since 6:00 am this morning…I am completely fried. Talk to you in a better zone.

Dude, the site looks kick ass!  I even like the menus.  ;)

The % done meter for the sets is a very nice idea.  I've seen some RPG companies do that.  It helps to let the fans know whats going on.  

Anyway, nice job!  Go get some sleep!  :)

The update looks great.  I especially like the progress meter.  I am really looking forward to the sea works.  The only problem was when I veiwed your thank you page.  After your video message, I hit the back button, but it just put me back on the thank you video again.  Other than that, everything looks great!

Yep, looks great Denny - drop down menus aren't a problem for me, I like them. Nice to see Moosey glaring out from the screen - who's the artist? Couple of general questions:

1) Is the progress-o-meter only going to show the next two upcoming releases? In other words are the two (?) Seaworks sets going to come out before anything else does? Isn't Castleworks Ultimate for example further 'along' than Seaworks 2 appears to be?

2) Can't wait to see the d20 adventures and tie-ins with WW. Are the adventures going to be PDFs or hardcopy? If hardcopy, are they going to include any cardboard WW buildings as part of the package? Is it too early to say who this is in cahoots with?

3) Is Dungeonworks Ultimate going to be available as a PDF (or at least the new bits)?

So, now the site is 'done' - when do we see the first new release? I can't wait!  ;D

The W.I.P meter only shows the two projects closest to "public" release. What it doesn’t show is how far along we are with projects we're not talking about publicly



Not sure yet but ideally they would be released in both formats and or as solo items. They will likely contain bonus models specific to the adventure.

On other issues. There are some strange bugs in the DHTML drop down menus, mainly weird things are happening while a page loads or is resized. Im working to fix these bugs as we speak. Sorry if its playing havoc with your browser.

Just a congrads...very nicely done.  The new website is very impressive.

I'd also like to particularly mention kudos for the video introduction.  It's the perfect way to show who you are and what you're about...let people see what WorldWorks looks like from the inside.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. There's still a few things to tweak on the site to get it up to par but its getting close. At this point Im just glad the bulk of it is done so I can get back to "building". In the end I hope that the video tutorials and other information on the site helps to give those "on the fencers" the added insentive to try a model set out and support the biz.

Yes, I'll have to say that the video tutorials are a GREAT idea.  There are some techniques that are much better to witness first-hand rather than try to explain with paper and pictures.

Hmmm, not sure if this is one of the bugs you mentioned but when I click on the "Click here to return to WorldWorks" header at the top of the page it opens a page (at least on my computer) to the original WorldWorks site.  Just thought I'd let you know.

The original site is completely wiped from the server so chances are you are seeing old cache files from your computer. If you delete your temporary internet files you wont see the old site anymore

Love the new web site, but HATE the RealPlayer! The program is way to invasive on my system. Give me a good Flash, MPEG, Animated GIF, QuickTime Movie or WMV, but NOT RealPlayer. Say you not gonna go that route with all your cool movies... PLEASE! :-[

Very nice! The progress meter in particular is a nice touch. The menus are very responsive once the page finishes laoding. (Tonight for some reason my connection is moving at a crawl, not just on your site.)

Hmmm, Dungeon Works Ultimate... Will the 'extra' bits be made available to those of us who have already purchased both DW and GR? Don't mind if you charge for the extras when sold seperately. but it kind of makes me wish that I had waited.

Right now though I am eying the progress on Seaworks, as though I expect it to change before my eyes. I can't wait for them to make their appearance! (Ahar me mateys! There be a fat, slow merchantman to lee, awaitin' on our pleasure!)

The Auld Grump, ever notice that when you mention that you hate something more of it appears? I mentioned on the Arena Works topic how much I dislike Blood Bowl, and then three people commission me to paint their teams.... Ah well.

*EDIT* Good idea on the promotions, getting people to see the product is the fastest way to get their interest.

I realize that RealPlayer can be intrusive unless you take the couple of minutes to turn certain file associations off but it remains one of the easiest streaming mediums out there. You also get the best quality with the smallest file size which is important as I dont have a ton of server space to dedicate to video. Just so you know though, I do intend on releasing tutorials in other formats to please everyone but RealPlayer was the easiest format out of the gate.

Have you tried quicktime? I have found it to work just fine for nearly all movies I've needed to put online. Besides which, it embeds easily in Flash (which I know you use) and can be saved for later viewing (which can't be done with RealPlayer).

Love the new layout, Utterly Fantastic comes to mind. And by the way I posted a link to this site on a video game forum I'm a member of, Due to the large amount of clix players we have. Hope this helps out with business... ;D

A little slow off the mark, but WOW! You've done an awesome job again, Denny. Lots of good ideas there; I particularly like the videos, both the tutorials and welcome/thank you message.

By the by, I notice in the promotions section that the business card doesn't say "coming soon", but it also doesn't link anywhere...
