Post subject: | Questions on Bits: Downtown |
So, i bought streets, armoury and Bits...so far they are looking good and i am having a blast with em'--group is looking forward to playing our next game in a cool looking city (oops, not sure if 'cool' is allowed on this board..be sure to flame me if it's not, thanks) A few questions before I buy Bits:Downtown as i couldn't tell from the pictures for that product. 1) are there interior wall textures to the buildings? Or are they all like the Hollywood flats of bits where the interior texture is white. 2) Are there any 'dressings' for the different buildings, like chairs, tables, desks etc.? 3) What is meant by the parethesis and 1x, 2x, 3x 4 x etc when listed after a building. For example Beige Flats (1x). What does the number and x stand for. That there are more than 1 texture or that is how many 'levels' that template has? Thanks for any clarifications you may have. Otherwise, i am digging...oh, wait, excuse me, 'liking' your product. |

1. No interiors Hollywood flat style only. 2. No interior props at all. 3. versions. ie: 2 types of beige walls and so on. Cool is fine with me ![]() |

Just wanted to clarify one point, and expand on another. While there are no interior dressings (or interiors of any sort), there are a few exterior "dressings" in the set...signs and a variety of doors. The four styles of hollywood flat building are: Beige Brick...just the one type of flat. Doors will come from the extra door bits. Stucco Brick...two types, one with windows to the ground floor, one with bare brick on the ground floor (suitable for doors, or a bare side). Office Block...exactly as it sounds, an office building. Two variations, one with door and one without. Skyscraper...the four-flat variant. Two ground-level versions (with and without doors), each of which has windows all the way to the top and no "finished" roof. A third variant is windows top to bottom, suitable for in-between sets of floors, and the fourth version has the actual finished top. The Skyscraper can be made with just the bottom and top flats for an 18" tall building, or you can keep adding 9" (or less, cut as you like) sections to the middle to make it as huge as you care to. |

Thanks guys for the replies and clarifications. So, I assume i can 'kitbash' and 'cut' interiors from the bits (wall texture from dingy apt for example) and slap it on the interior of the Beige brick flats for example. If that is the case I will probably pick this up today. thanks again! |

sure can. Matter of fact you can look at http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/vi ... php?t=4018 as an example of how Bruenor did that with Village Works. |

A tip on cutting straighter... First, mark out on the whitespace of the sheet it's printed on where you want to cut (measure carefully). Second, use the recommended cutting board, metal ruler, and sharp hobby knife. Press down HARD on the ruler to keep it from sliding. Third...after you glue the two walls (interior/exterior) to each other and after it has a while to dry...plunk it back down on your board and re-trim the very edge of it with your knife again. It'll align both walls exactly with one-another. |

For the tables, chairs etc., consider ponying up for Shellandrac Manor. between that and Mayhem Armory, you have all the interior props you should want for Mayhem type buildings. Granted, the bathrooms stuff is a bit fancy, so you can use the "filthy" toilet, sink and bathtub thats included. Also great wallpaper and interior floor tiles. |

I agree that Shellendrak interiors work well with Mayhem, despite being a bit more upmarket in style! The proportions work, and any minor differences can be kitbashed. Worth a look... |
