Ok, really...i love WWG and building things now...i got the bug only after a few weeks of owning all of Mayhem... I even got the wife to think that this is a 'neat' hobby I have even though she calls it my "doll house' building time. So, as i plan things out, and i plan on building quite a few sets...i really see it as impossible to store all this stuff. I only have 5 buildings, most of Mayhem Rail and a bunch of Streats/Rail tiles built and I'm already taking up most of a top shelf in the garage... At this rate when i get all of the mayhem stuff built that I want I will fill an entire storage shelf in the garage with this stuf...not so sure I or the wife will be cool with that ![]() any tips on storing this stuff better. I use big rubbermaid medium and large storage boxes for this stuff so i don't crush the buildings. Or do i just need to realize this stuff takes a ton of space and just deal... |

I just had an adjustible rack system put in along one wall in what use to be my sewing room. It accomodates 3'x5' game boards full of terrain. I can fit two boards across, and depending on terrain height 6 to 8 boards vertically, Since I like to see all of my builds, I enclosed the front with glass sliding panels. That also keeps them from getting dusty. I am not even close to having the space filled ... but it is there when I need it. I had a 'flat file storage' cabinet built within the space left on that wall to store model set print outs and my own drawings. It didn't cost me anything since my sister and her husband are remodeling their home. They gave me some of their old windows, which I just had put into sliding door frames for the front of the unit. I got their scrap lumber too. My brother-in-law also did the cutting and routing for the storage rack, plus the door tracks, and flat file cabinet. Yep, I owe them big time! |
