Correct me if I'm wrong...please, but I don't think it's a good idea to pre advertise a new product such as Seaworks. It has been advertised for months and we seem no closer to seeing it. Please understant I love this stuff and it's not coming out fast enough for me. The metter says Seaworks - in a few days...those few days have grown to over a week now. Can date be more specific in releasing time? What an awesome product. I truly can't wait for Seaworks.

Brotherdenis, I know it can be frustrating waiting for a product to launch (trust me its worse from this side of the screen). SeaWorks is a mere few days from launch now and the statement on the front page isn’t false. Paul and I will be releasing teaser shots and quite possibly a sample anytime in the next day or so. Unfortunately because we are a very small business unforeseen delays happen and schedules change. One thing you have to realize is that while I do this full-time Paul does not. SeaWorks “The Legend of Skull Cove” is Paul’s baby. For him work on SeaWorks must be balanced with the chaos of holding down a “normal” full-time job to provide for his family. He’s really been busting his hump trying to get this thing out in a timely fashion but there are only so many hours in the day. If “SeaWorks: The Legend of Skull Cove” is successful then it will bring Paul one step closer to quitting his “day job” and coming onboard the WorldWorks machine full-time. From what I’ve seen I have a feeling this release will help him get there a lot sooner  For the record; we don’t talk about “everything” that is being worked on for the exact reasons you are talking about here. We don’t want to get your hopes up on projects that are too far “down the road”. As I have said in another thread, we have just taken on two more staff in an effort to increase future release speeds. As frustrating as it may be we need to mention a few upcoming product titles in order to generate some degree of hype. We can’t give absolute release dates for many reasons (creative, competitive, personal) but to not mention a product “until its ready” would make it appear on the outside that nothing was being worked on (Which couldn’t be farther from the truth). We are doing our best and hopefully if this year is another success for WorldWorks then I can bring Paul and other artists into full-time employment. The last thing we want to do is frustrate any fans of our work. |

That was a nicely worded explanation Denny. :) I think the anticipation comes from people, like myself, who put certain games or campaigns on the back burner till a product comes out. I've been holding off a 50 Fathoms campaign cause I want some nice 3d terrain to make the game that much more immersive for everyone. I figured "hey, just a few weeks and I can get some killer terrain for this game". Then it turned into a few months and at this point I'm like "well, I'll just hold off till I can do it the way I envisioned." No biggie overall though...there are always games to run. :) I just wanted to give a GM's perspective. |

I understand that completely. That’s why we ended up switching to the wonderfully vague WIP meter instead of peeving people with absolutes we couldn’t deliver on for one reason or another. Once the ball gets rolling on a few projects I'm hoping we can offer more stable release dates in future. |

Thank you for your explanation Denny. I really don't want to be mean...I'm just so friggin anxious...haha. You are an awesome guy doing an awesome thing for all of us. I understand the marketing behind a product and the "worm on the hook" practice to reel us all in. I understand. I've always had a thing for the ships of old and the Man O War era and to actually see a 3D game pieces come into play is very thrilling. My utmost hats off to Paul and very well wishes in his future endeavours. U de Man Denny!!! |
