Post subject: | Model Sizes |
As I try to plan a new model I'm working on, and start looking through all the sets I own for what can be use, I hit the same block I always do. I'll look at the kitchen sink counter in Mayhem, and wonder... exactly how large is it? It's hard to plan a specific layout without building everything, just to see if it'll fit or needs modifying. Since the designers already know exact measurements, as they have chosen those measurements specifically, would it be possible to include a listing of measurements with each set? It could be rounded up, but would really help to have an idea. Some of the set photos really help with this because the floor is gridded. For example, , clearly shows that the felt topped desk and the bathtub are both 2"x1". I'm not fussed about the height, but do need to figure out floorspace. Arabin |

I agree that when a set has a complete list of models with measurements (not necesarily components, but each model for sure) then it would be an ideal as a download from the product page. It's little things like trying to plan an apartment using bits from Mayhem Armory, as I mentioned above, and adjusting things before building to fit the components. I had originally planned a 3" wide kitchen, for example, but I found that the kitchen sink (with stove attached) is 2.5" wide, and the refrigerator is about 15/16". Thankfully I can play around with things before building, but a list would certainly have sped the process. Perhaps as fans we can slowly build this list, and perhaps designers could add to it if/when they know some off the top of their heads. Another example... how big is the angled roof from Marsstation when folded up? How large is the floorplan in Marsstation when you add the corner supports? This one I know, it adds 1/2" on each side, so to fit on a 7" tile, the largest size you could have would be 6". If you wanted to align the grid, the largest size would be 5". Arabin |
