Hot dog. Looks like we're all good. Everything ported over except for one known issue, and those are message board links, ie, links from one post to another (the topic IDs changed during the port). I'll fix those over the next few days; they're not a big deal, I don't think. Yeah, some things are different. The color scheme and design is slightly different, the icons are a bit different and you'll see things in some funky places here and there. There isn't the cute little message on the left hand side anymore (sorry, thats not a phpBB thing). I think all of your avatars should be the same; I even added a whole new set of avatars to choose from. Oh - and yes, your post counts properly transferred over, too (congrats to TheAuldGrump, who recently passed Lurthyr for 2nd in posts). I pretty thoroughly tested the converter (and liberally rewrote entire sections of it ... yeech). But, if for some reason you do see anything totally out of whack, please post it here, and I'll fix it as soon as I can. For those who noticed the URL - this (shdev.com) is my server, and until Denny gets the new server up and running (which might be a bit, he tells me), I'm going to run it on my server. The old board and server were just too slow, and this (so far) seems much better. |

Okay, I found one thing you'll probably have to change in your profile. Your time zone. I don't think the timezone settings came across properly. For those unfamiliar with GMT, here are common (American) time zones: EST = GMT - 4 hours CST = GMT - 5 hours PST = GMT - 7 hours I have no clue what zone Hawaii is in. |

I know for sure that the there were several times I considered checking the forums but did not due to the servers speed, and the drag that I'm told yabb causes. Fast forums are a must for a business like this and I'm sure denny will see returns on the investiment. |

Ye Thunders, I am become like unto a god! (Or Model God at any rate... ![]() The new board does seem faster, though given the hours I tend to post it was never all that slow for me. Well, back to modeliing, I have a deep water harbor to plan out, then build. The Auld Grump, and this one I'm keeping! Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine! |

Odd, an error 500 followed by a double post... I would assume that the error prevented me seeing the message rather than preventing the message from being posted,... The Auld Grump, who hopefully will remember that if it occurs again. ![]() |

I e-mailed Robby about the error. Should be cleared up by tommorow. |

Fixed. Problem with the mail server. Oh, and another new trick for y'all. When there are new messages in a topic, you'll see a little orange arrow to the left of the topic link. If you click that orange arrow, it will take you to the newest messages, bypassing all the messages you've read. |

No, no, no, this is just too fast, I mean, I have my routines you know, and this superfast forum means I no longer have time for a potty break while browsing the forums. ![]() All kidding aside, this is a vast improvement! I may even need to get an avatar now! |

Wonderful. Well done, indeed. The forums are fast, responsive, and still all quite familiar. I'm exceedingly happy with the work done. A bit of tweaking here and there to get used to the differences, and I'm completely good to go. Thanks. |

Very nice. I did notice one glitch: I guess there's no limit on avatar size? User Warhippo for example seems to have a 320x240 pixel avatar picture, which is actually being displayed at its full size so it pushes all the text over to the right. You can see an example in this thread: http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/vi ... 3&start=30 |

Egads! A full-life size version of the War Hippo doing his jiggly dance. That is too much ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Robby, Nice work. I'm so glad this board has finally gotten the old hyperdrive motivator fixed. It's so cool to see how fast this puppy runs. |

Psst, Robby. Don't mean to pick, but "forum" is missing the U at the very bottom of the page (the link back to WWG homepage). ![]() D |

Thanks Slinky. Not picking at all. Its fixed - and while I was in there, I lightened up the copyright text so its actually readable, and added the WWG copyright notice next to phpBB's copyright notice. You know, busy work until Maiden is released... (hint hint) |
