I agree that you should be paid for your work. I have been a home-caster toy soldier maker for over 11 years, usually working just craft shows and an occasional weekend at a kiosk outside the Base Exchange at Wright-Patterson AFB, and have 2 basic kinds of customers - those who wonder why 'toy' soldiers are so expensive (and therefore never spend a penny on them) and those who wonder why I am so cheap for such quality work (who are those who actually buy a few figures). I still hope to retire to full time toy soldier making in the next 5 years (gads, by the time I'm 55) and make a living on that. The world shoud realize you get what you pay for, at least for the most part, so spending a reasonable sum for a quality product should just be common sense. One thing I have learned since leaving the Army a few years ago is that common sense isn't very common anymore. ![]() |

I recently began working on a Rocket Launcher weapon, add-on, for plastic army men tanks, as a freebie, for my army men wargame page. I am keeping it very simple, and free, for download. It amazed me how involved such a "simple" piece is... I have a whole new respect for your crew, Denny! My "little project", is proving to be much more difficult than I anticipated. I can't imagine why anyone would do so much work on creating a really decent card stock model (which mine isn't... it is quite basic, and simple), and then put it up for free! Even more astounding, to me, is why they would then gripe about someone charging money for similar works! It is not like you are in competition with them!!! Utterly ridiculous. ![]() By the way, I am really, REALLY, excited about the "SiegeWorks" set... ![]() Cheers! |
