Either wait the extra day, or post it as a 'freebie' to advertise both the Maiden and Skull Cove. Either way it means having to wait until the second week of the festival for my event. It runs for three weeks. Hopefully I can get it finished next weekend when I should have time available. Aassuming it takes the usual amount of time for me to build it - though it might not, currently I am cranking in preperation, finishing the odds & ends before festival. (I am nearly to the bottom of the infamous 'stack o' Dungeon Works) Or I may burn out and become nothing but a pair of ragged claws...) t is even possible I can get it done this week, but the 'ink low' warning has begun blinking and both of the office suppply stores have run out of HP 57 cartidges at the same time. In the entire time I have had my printer this is the first time that I have seen either of them out of these cartidges, now I am in a rush and the cartidges are nowhere to be found. (And the third big office supply store in the area closed its doors completely.... It's a conspiracy I tell you, they palnned this out months ago!) My guess is some company decided to buy the cartidges up en mass. Ah well. The Auld Grump, and now the color magenta is very definetly out... But cyan is still going strong. |

What, you're going to do a giant squid for the Maiden set? No Nautilus, no Captain Nemo? You can't have giant squids without Nemo and his submarine! That's sacrilegious! ![]() How about a big white whale? The Maiden ain't exactly a whaler, but...doesn't everyone want to be Ahab at least once, or am I just weird? -Mel |

I'm dying for the Maiden, and want to wait not one whit longer than necessary. So, I think posting the squid as a freebie (like Skull Rock) is a great idea. I'm not so keen on the expansion idea, unless you are going to do a another SeaWorks-style set (or perchance a monster set - "Monsters and Mayhem"?). I have a feeling the majority are more patient than I am, however. [Edit: yup, and after casting my vote and seeing the poll results, I see I am indeed the only greedy and impatient one. Argh.] AuldGrump - check Target. We've gotten some amazing deals on printer cartridges there. |

I said 'Yes yes yes' because I know the squid will rock! (or maybe squish!) However, here's a marketing tip... Don't water down a differentiated product with high value. In other words, if you make the best car speakers IN THE WORLD and you want to sell them, you don't throw in speaker wire. If you make the WORLDS BEST Cars... you don't throw in the floor mats. It really is better to make it an 'after market' item, or even a promo freebie than to package it together. Otherwise, you run the risk of buyers averaging the value down to the lesser component in the lot. IOW,You run the risk of people deciding not to buy because they don't need/want the add-on product. Let the second stringers do the bundles. There is always room for add-ons galore (and I think this may be a good model for WWG... lead with a stellar piece and have lots of sub-set add-ons). Don't worry about nickel and diming the masses. You know we'll be vocal and help you make course corrections as necessary if you over shoot. HAVING SAID ALL THAT, I COULD BE COMPLETELY WRONG. So do what you feel works for you. ![]() ![]() In any case, I voted to wait because I won't have time to look at this until Saturday so MIGHT AS WELL! Good luck Denny! Can't wait to see the Squid and Thanks! A squid works PERFECTLY with my ideas for a pirate campaign run under SW rules. PaperCut |

I'd much rather you take the extra day to triple- and quadruple-check the Maiden itself. Preferably by getting some outside reviewers involved. (I know how hard it is to keep going over your own stuff time and time again.) As for a giant squid... could be cool, but I don't really need one. For me, it would all depend on how realistic (i.e. non-angular) it looks, and whether the arms are articulated. A boxy squid with fixed, rigid arms would detract from the Maiden model for me! PS: I'm still not sure whether the Maiden will include a full keel and display stand. Now that is something I would gladly wait a couple of extra days for! |

Yes, please. And if you can do an Octopus some day, that would be GREAT! Alexio |

See, this is why it pays to ask the customer ![]() I will release "the squid" as part of an expansion or a freebie later down the road. One thing is certain, I know that many of you will "want more" even though the set is quite large. An expansion would not be a difficult sell. Thank you for your opinions and extremely grounded advice ![]() |
